This is a small restaurant right off of 206 north of Stanhope. Very quaint. They have a large beer menu and the food is a step or two above bar food. Not all fried, they also offer noodle bowls, and other appetizer type meals. The service was good, don't let the abundance of tattoos bother you and you also have... More

Went for my son's celebration of first home closing. Food is above average with one of our dishes outstanding. My son got he mac and cheese as an appetizer, more hype than quality and not worth spending money on it. Service was a little sketchy with a young server who really did not seem that interested in her job. Prices... More

Okay, you're working in Centralish/Northernish New Jersey and you're tired of the yuppie restaurants and the chain gangs; so,where do you go? Salt! Self acclaimed NJ's first gastropub It seems like it is located out in the styx next door to the NJ Devil but it's right off of I-80 and Rt. 206. I dined there two nights in a... More

I guess I can begin with my wife's first words as we exited after dinner, "wow, that was truly horrible!" We likened it to a PA resort we spent a weekend at 20 years ago, as that's how far back we have to go for a comparably bad dining experience. Last night we ate in Stanhope's #1 rated restaurant. No way... More

Have been there a bunch of times over the last few years. Once thought it was great, but now I see it is slipping a bit. Went there this last Friday for a "date night" with my wife and were let down . We too have had food come cold in the center and needed to be sent back. Portions... More

I've eaten here twice. They have a good selection of beer both on tap and bottled. Our bartender was knowledgeable about the choices. The first time I ate here I had a steak with chimichurri sauce. The steak was delicious and came with very good fries. But the sauce was cold and tasteless. Husband ha d a good burger. The... More

This is one of our son's favorite places and everyone there was just like him, young, athletic, out-door, healthy, natural, trail-biking and good-looking. Naturally we fit in... not. But I give him props for brave and sharing. There are a few hundred beers, mostly local, many with words like "natural" and "organic" and I would have l liked to try... More

My husband and I finally decided to stop in to this cute restaurant/pub we've passed for years driving to and from our kids' camp in Stillwater, NJ. I'm so mad we didn't do that 10 years ago because this adorable - and tasty - bistro pub would have been regular stop. The beer list is extensive and excellent, the food... More

After looking at a house we decided to stop for dinner at Salt after reading some good reviews on Trip Advisor. It was a quaint place with a lot of charm. We started with a pulled pork egg roll as an appetizer with coleslaw. It was delicious. Our entrees were the Ahi Tuna Special, Meatloaf, Fish and Chips and the... More

Early-bird dinner last night after shopping. Great choice for a fine, casual meal. Had been there before, but usually went away feeling a bit crowded and tired of the menu. But, glad to see many new items, plus a really neat giant chalkboard affixed to the wall, showing all of the specials. Tasty hummus was brought to our table and... More
