Cafe Matisse’s mission is to provide our patrons with a fine dining experience in an elegant yet casual, convivial atmosphere. We strive to address every detail and exceed expectations to create an experience that is truly a departure from the ordinary. Chef Owner Peter Loria’s hand crafted dishes are presented in either a three or a four course grazing menu option. We look forward to providing you and your guests with a special evening to remember! Nestled in a renovated circa 1898 firehouse, Café Matisse’s elegant dining room is adorned with Matisse silhouettes and bejeweled chandeliers. Our European courtyard, complete with romantic water features, is open each summer season from May 15th through October 15th.

I compare all restaurants to Café Matisse and have found none better. Cannot understand how this place is not the best in NJ

Everything is really sublime here. Eclectic interior design, whimsical and inviting. A different take on dining. Each course is bigger than an appetizer, and smaller than an entree. Concentration is on quality and presentation, not portions. Do not expect a big pork chop. That being...More

We enjoyed our dinner at Cafe Matisse. The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. And the food was delicious. We did the 3-course with 2 savory and 1 dessert, and even though our waiter told us that the savory dishes are appetizer size...More

Classical french cooking with a modern twist, bit heavy, popular with "local" in small New Jersey town, bring your own wine. Tasting menu 4-course including dessert good value.

It's been about a year since we last dined at Cafe Matisse, but the food and service remain consistently excellent and the reception by the staff was warm and welcoming as always. The menu choices do not seem to have changed very much over the...More
