I, personally, wasn't impressed with Jay's. I love a good dive bar but this place was just crowded and a bit unwelcoming to me. I'm sure it's a good time if you're not exhausted and over 30 years old.
The wings are good. The pitchers are reasonable. There are pool tables and the floors are sticky! What else could you want in a local dive bar? Keep up the good world Jay's!

Have been coming to Jays for 20 plus years. It is unfortunately one of the few remaining neighborhood bars. Aside from that they have the best wings in SJ....beers are cold and the locals friendly. A must do when in the area.
we stopped in here while in NJ....kind of looks dumpy from the outside but wasn't bad inside and the food and service was good. And it got quite busy...
Great place to stop and have a beer and maybe a bite to eat. Friendly gathering of people who are all local area natives so the place is really fun.
