The owners are incredibly friendly. The food is fantastic and beautifully presented. The flavors are wonderful. And I always love the music there. Whenever we come in town we go there!

The service was excellent and attentive and the Asian food wonderful. We enjoyed the live Cuban Jazz music while 6 of us feasted on an assortment of specialty dishes prepared for us. The manger was fantastic, making certain we were cared for. It was Saturday night and they were packed but that didn't detract the least from us having a... More
Having lived in Madison for abour 4 years now, we've visited Shanghai Jazz a couple of times. It is a great place to bring people who are visiting for both food and entertainment. The food is amazing and the live jazz adds a truly unique feel for something in this area. Definitely a welcome break from the standard restaurant and... More
I took my Husband here for his birthday and we both really enjoyed the food we ordered. They were super busy but the owner and/or manager (from what i could tell) was very attentive to all tables. There was a mix or couples, families and large groups of people. It seems like a pretty universal place for everyone.
Shanghai Jazz is a very unique venue. The music is always very new & relatively local. Always someone playing who is on the move on up. You can sit at a table or at the bar for a bite to eat and some wine. A great place to go to relax.
Amazing entertainment, calm and beautiful atmosphere. I had a great time- had a date there and it is a romantic atmosphere.
This is a small cozy place with a bar and several tables. Two seating sessions: around 6 and 8:15. Very good jazz band with a singer, excellent service, and surprisingly good food (fairly rare find at the jazz place). Love it, will be back!
One of the best Chinese I've had...we let the owner do the pick for us and we were not disappointed. We had dim sum, which was delicious, crispy duck wrapped in pancakes, prosperity fish, and I believe the firecracker beef. The fried rice was fantastic. The dessert sampler was delicious, it included tiramisu, chocolate cake, brownies with ice cream and... More
This is a combo Jazz/Chinese restaurant. At first glance, the food prices are a little high but when you factor in great live music is is totally justified. Not to take away from the food...top notch Chinese cuisine served here. The owner of the place could not be nicer. Patrons can immediately feel his happiness and passion for his restaurant.... More
