We were on a weeks holiday to NY and found this quaint bistro on our travels. Glad we made reservations because it was extremely busy with no spare tables inside. We ordered 4 different meals and all received above average pass marks. Staff were friendly and we eventually finished off our evening at a table outside due to how busy... More

Good Continental Euro food. Great bar too. Can get busy at popular hours. Try eating al fresco in the evening. First time go during off hours. We find it friendly at any time.

I've eaten here about three or four times and every time I do I'm impressed by the friendly welcome we receive, the local neighborhood vibe, and the European-style feel of the small dining room. The food is typical French bistro fare and the wine list is full of great choices by the glass -- and at reasonable prices. This year... More

There were 4 of us for a late lunch (2:30 pm). The greeting involved asking us if we had reservations. (The place was mostly empty, predictably at that time!) We were all excited about the menu as we had checked it out on-line. Unfortunately, that was the last of our excitement! The server lacked warmth and seemed to be disinterested... More

The end of a hot day sitting outside on the terrace with family. Great friendly attentive service and lovely food. Sea food is fresh and really well cooked - I had calamari followed by cod and clams served on a delicious bed of fennel and kale in a tasty sauce. Great value too and a relaxing environment. Plus bonus views... More

a very good local bistro Bartendress was fun and made super drinks. Appetizers were better than entrées. Escargot and tomato bisque were very good. Risotto was only acceptable Fish and chips were ok. Lots of customers on a Sunday nIte would go again

Not much to add to the positive comments about this friendly place in our neighborhood, variety on the menu, some classic french, some adapted to local taste. 3 appetizers we enjoyed lately, goat cheese croquette w lettuce and beet salad, the octopus and mergez small plate, asparagus with proscuitto and burrata. Plan 35 to $45 pp for a full 3... More

This is a cozy, local place that has a friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. We go here to have drinks at the bar or dinner at a table. As we live in Paulus Hook we often meet our friends here having a drink at the end of the work day. Folks are financial people, carpenters, nurses, social workers, engineers, and... More

We have eaten several times at Bistro La Source. During the summer they have outside dining. Service is always friendly and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The have an interesting selection of drafts and the mussels are always delicious. Their buttermilk fried chicken is sinfully enjoyable. The Alsatian Choucroute Garnie is filling and something different from what I usually... More

I come for the food. Good job on French classics like Cassoulet and Choucroute garnie. The best fried chicken around. Friendly servers. Interesting wine list too.
