I came here to try the Hungarian food. The menu has Chicken Paprikas, Stuffed Cabbage, Beef Goulash, and Weiner Schnitzel. I tried the chicken paprikas and wasn't disappointed. It is one of the last restaurants in the area to offer Hungarian food so I was...glad to see those items on the menu. The service is excellent and the menu is varied so there is something for everyone.More
Great standby spot with consistently good food (especially the Hungarian options), with equally inconsistent service. We all got sandwiches this time around, and while the food was tasty, the wait simply wasn't worth it.
My wife and I stopped here over the weekend and had delicious Hungarian goulash and stuffed cabbage. It's so difficult to find good regional dishes like these, but if you're not adventurous, there's a broad menu to choose from. The meals tasted home cooked. For...dessert we shared a carrot cake that was excellent--not too sweet. We'll definitely be backMore
So disappointed in our meal here. Ran out of wine we were drinking. Weiner schnitzel was dry with no lemon. Buffalo chicken egg rolls were cold inside. The speatzle was burned, like it was browned in a frying pan too long to heat it up....The vegetables were browned like this too. The special of the day was a small portion of beef stroganoff covered by egg noodles. Couldn’t even see the stroganoff under them. And the waitress said it was served with spaetzle when the order was placed. The Fish and Chips was three little fish stick size pieces of fish. The waitress seemed annoyed to be serving us. Never smiled or checked on us. And a 20% tip was added to the bill (which was determined after the tax was added). Way overpriced. I would have complained and sent food back but we had brought out of town visitors so all I did was apologize continually to them instead. Didn’t want to make a scene in front of visitors.More
Wanted some Hungarian food on a Monday when everyone is closed. Search showed Hopewell Bistro was open so we stopped in. SOOOO glad we did. We had the place pretty much to ourselves with just a few others in for lunch. Cozy, homey feel. Waitress...so very nice. Food arrived quick and was just what we had in mind. Manhattan clam chowder was tasty, stuffed cabbage and potato pancakes. Yummy! We had that dessert picture above and ummmmmm. We will be back again.More
