Thana Thai is a pretty good Thai restaurant on the main street in Hopewell. There is only street parking, so that could be a bit of a hassle. The food is pretty good. Not the best Thai food I've had but on the upper end....The atmosphere and staff are really nice. Worth a visit if you are walking the area.More
We were looking for a new, family friendly restaurant to check out, so we decided to try Thana. Decent Thai food. My step son loved his meal (drunken noodles with beef, very spicy). My husband and I thought our meals were good. He thought his...was a decent Thai meal, but probably not the best around. My ginger salmon had a lot of vegetables, which I loved. However, the salmon was fried, which I did not expect, and the salmon portion was on the smaller side. The service was good. Everyone there was very friendly and a few people came over to make sure we were enjoying our meals. My son got a lollipop and my step kids got a big bowl of ice cream at the end of the meal. The meal was very reasonable. (With tip it came to @$85 for three meals and two appetizers.) We made a reservation, and were glad that we did since the restaurant was packed. I’d go back again and try another dish, and I know my stepkids would definitely go back and get the drunken noodles!More
The food was delicious!! We ordered the assorted appetizers, drunken noodles and pad thai. Every dish was on point. I went with our family of five and this place is definitely family friendly. We had the best service and I cannot wait to go back.
Every Thai place within 10 miles of Princeton has been mediocre at best during my 30 years in this area. One has had to go to Somerset for decent Thai. Based on the one dish I ordered as takeout here (Meang Kana: Chinese broccoli leaves...with fresh ginger, lime, shallots, chili spice, peanuts and homemade coconut-paste), I can finally recommend a Thai place nearby. It’s about Thai’m! The atmosphere is surprisingly upscale and nice. It is definitely mid-priced, not cheap or expensive, but it may be slightly on the high side of mid. We are looking forward to trying to rest of the menu soon!More
All round a great place for lunch with a nice menu and for a good price. A perfect place for dinner too! Duck, pad thai, fried rice, everything is good on the menu. An all around Fantasitc place!
Stopped at this restaurant because the place we intended to go for dinner was closed. Very nice tables for outdoor dining, and nice atmosphere inside. I ordered the Spicy Rice with beef, and my wife ordered the red curry with chicken. Given a choice of...spice levels 1 thru 3, we both chose 2. Both meals were extremely flavorful, with a good level of heat and spice. Portions were generous, and freshly prepared while we waited for our takeout. This is our new favorite Thai place.More
We ventured into this place for lunch at about 1pm There was one other table seated and we were seated right next to them under the airconditioner. This turned out to be an annoyingly loud place to sit. We ordered from the lunch menu which...included a soup or salad. Neither were appetising at all. The salad greens were soggy with water sitting in base of bowl.small dollops of thick peanut dressing sat on top . There was an unpleasant texture to both the salad sprouts and the dressing. No hint of chilli . The veg soup was bland and again missing any heat. We had both ordered medium so while not needing a blast did expect at least a hint of chilli and usual spices of Thai cuisine. The main courses were just as disappointing The pad Thai was served with overcooked noodles with little flavour. The chicken was very bad tasting and also overcooked .no fresh garnishes or vegetables in sight.the pile of crushed peanuts were stale . My partners red curry was excessively sour with a taste of uncooked spices and raw red chilli. We did not receive rice until finally getting attention of the kitchen staff and requesting it. It was reasonable jasmine rice . During the most of our meal the greeter / dining room server was talking to a software salesman and paying no attention to the fact that we needed rice , water and then had finished our meal. It is hard to understand any positive reviews for this place Please avoid if you are expecting decent Thai food.More
I will return to this family friendly style. The food was delicious and bountiful. Try the fried rice in the pineapple to share at the table. It was scrumptious. Nice owner who cares if your pleased.
We ordered specials and the food seemed very fresh and much more authentic than most Thai restaurants in NJ (which are often run by non-Thai people). A minor downside is that the wait-staff seem pretty inexperienced; but we will still be back because the food...was very good. In the same space as the old Da's Kitchen.More
