Our family always enjoyed getting a quick and tasty bite at Red Oak whenever we were in the area, however, when we visited in January 2017 it was closed. Folks who live in the area say it is either closed forever or moving. I hope it will be back. It was a really nice diner.

Took grand kids for lunch, seated and waited 20 minutes before the manager came and took our order. The order came back wrong. Coffee was cool. Soups Luke warm. Out of appetizer fried ravioli????? It was listed on the menu. People at tables and booths all around complaining to wait staff about service. These guys need to get their stuck... More

The Red Oak is a diner I frequent every time I come to Jersey, which is about twice a year. I have yet to have a bad meal, and my wife and I enjoy visiting the place. They have different themes for different nights, and even the one that caters to kids isn’t distracting to adults without kids. I’d recommend... More

There were plenty of vegetarian options. There is a separate gluten free section- with three options- gluten free pizza, chicken with gluten free pasta and and a gluten free grilled vegetable wrap. The waitress was very friendly and the place is clean. There is a full bar available. The grilled vegetables are on the regular as well as the gluten... More

We've only been here for Sunday brunch, so can't say much about other things on the menu. But, the omelets and waffles are big and filling. So many NJ combinations you won't find outside the tri-state area (pastrimi, corned beef with cabbage). You can get tomatoes as a substitute for the home fries for you low-carb eaters out there. Not... More

The breakfast is decent, the prices are pretty high for a diner. Two people; coffee, tea, omelet with side of bacon, two eggs fried potatoes and bacon $25. Seems high to me.

We were passing through Hazlet and decided to stop for a quick bite. It was a Sunday. The diner was doing a fundraiser for the RAGE cause and it also had characters stopping at the tables to visit the kids. I was happy because my family was able to order whatever they wanted. Between all of us we tried a... More
