Quite honestly this place used to be kind of a dump. Didn't trust the cleanliness nor the food. A new owner has taken over and it is a night and day difference. Now it feels like a true Diner and the food is fantastic. I...will definitely be back.More
Tried the new Triangle Diner. Completely remodel looks great. Food was ok, service could have been better. I will give them another try soon.
New owners are The Hawthorne Diner. Nicer layout of tables and server was friendly. That's where it ended. Had eggs benedict. "Charcoal"Burnt english muffin, canadian bacon like leather and the "poached" eggs were overcooked to medium well. A solid non flowing Yoke. it couldn't have...been worse. YUCK. tolld the server to no avail. she just kept apologizing and said she'd let the cook know. No offer to remake, offer alternative dish, comp a dessert, or refund. 1st time was the last time unfortunately.More
We used to be steady customers on a Sunday morning for breakfast or lunch. This was a charming family owned business.. not sure if one of the owners passed away, but I think so. Soon after not seeing him in his spot changes started happening....The staff started to change and so did the interior as well as Exterior. Nice updates but it seems that prices went up to pay for all those upgrades. A new couple seem to be running the diner now with a new menu. Prices went up considerably. The food is average, can't say anything bad about it . Change is sometimes hard to accept but the steep hike in prices keep me from coming backMore
Each and every time we are in North Jersey for a visit, we love going here for a slice of Americana; Nadia so welcoming and works so hard, glad to give her the business and her staff could not be nicer. Place is immaculate and...food is so fresh and deliciousMore
I like going to the triangle never had a bad breakfast yet love there sausages! Never had lunch or dinner.
More than a traditional diner. From the personal touches of unique tableware and service ( every coffe cup is different and looks like hand painted ceramic) to the owner saying " yummy time " when she delivers your food, thus place is special. Food is...good, but the personal feel and hometown touch makes it worth the trip.More
My wife and I have been going to the Triangle Diner for many years. We have never had a bad meal and Nadia the owner is a lovely lady. Breakfast, lunch or dinner you can't go wrong. As others have written the place is always...very clean. Unlike other diners I can not ever remember going in and seeing a dirty table or the last person's dishes. Nadia is a tough boss and this translates to steady, happy customers.More
It's a nicely decorated diner with great soups, sandwiches, with a homemade touch. Excellent staff and service.
Nadia (the owner) is fastidious about cleanliness and it shows throughout this little corner diner. I have eaten here for years and can attest to the fact that although the diner has a typical menu, it is more limited that others. All the food I...have ever had here has been of the highest quality and the service has been top notch.More
Location is literally on a triangle. Parking is somewhat difficult, more so when leaving. Place smells very clean. Breakfast has always been good with offers for coffee refills. Prices are decent and food fresh. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly but she did the job!
I last visited this diner about 40 years ago. It was a smoke-filled greasy spoon that was patronized chiefly by factory workers, real meat and potatoes men. It had lots of atmosphere -- too much atmosphere for me, so I essentially wrote it off. But...I've recently begun to hear good things about it, so I decided to stop by for breakfast one morning. What a transformation! The place glistens. It is bright and airy. You can safely breathe there again. Everything is sparkling clean. And the decor has completely changed. It was decorated for Easter when I dropped in, and it looked as if the Easter Bunny had just hopped away. The waitresses were friendly, efficient, and bustling. Attention was cheerfully paid. The food was as good as you would expect from a diner in New Jersey, which means it was very good. I really enjoyed the visit and will certainly be coming back.More
I live in Hawthorne and have always tried to find a restaurant in my town was good. The Triangle Diner is one of the few restaurants in Hawthorne and for a while we used to go there and the food was good. I love the...atmosphere in has a very cozy and friendly vibe, but the food totally ruins it. One time my family and I went to have breakfast there and the pancakes we received were made with sour milk which made the pancakes inedible. We tried going there for dinner years later and the food is extremely overpriced. The food was ok but not worth what we paid for. The owner is nice but that doesn't make up for the terrible food.More
I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. We've been regulars at Triangle Diner for more than 5 years and can't imagine not being able to go there whenever the spirit moves us. This is not your average, impersonal NJ diner -...it's a home away from home. Nadia, the owner is an absolute gem - runs the place like a well - oiled machine, making sure everything comes out of the kitchen quickly and properly and with her signature "Yummy Time" announcement as she serves you. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the kitchy vibe is a delight! I've never had a bland or poorly cooked meal at Triangle. The chicken noodle/ rice soup is a specialty; it's 100% homemade and I defy anyone's grandmother to do it better. Salads are fresh and portions are enormous. The sandwiches, too, are overstuffed and the meats are generally lean and very fresh. Breakfast is excellent at Triangle as well - fresh eggs cooked exactly as ordered, very good home fries, which can be deep fried for an added treat. My husband has begun ordering the ham steak along with his eggs for breakfast and it's terrific - a real thick, wonderfully tasty piece of ham. Another Breakfast specialty is the buttermilk pancakes - cooked to perfection with just a hint of crispiness outside, light and fluffy inside. For Dinner the Teryiaki chicken, the cheese burger and the stuffed pepper are particularly good.Love this place!!More
