Horrible. Poor service. The food just as bad. The "management" is extremely rude. To sum it up I would not recommend this place even if someones life depended on it.

This is the most Family unfriendly place. If you have kids or even teens, please don’t go here. The Hotel manager suddenly decided that my son’s pants are not up to his liking and he harshly pointed this to out. We spent almost a hour...to go to nearby Target to get a replacement pant for my son. I wanted to get out from this ugly situation, but had to continue as it was a celebration of our relatives birthday anniversary. The manager who rejected this pant my son was wearing did not come and check if the replacement was up to his hotheads approval. Please avoid this place as Plague especially if you have family and kids.More

I had an incredible dining experience at Samudhra restaurant. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Laal Maas Gosht were both exceptionally flavorful and delicious. However, what truly stole the show was their Chicken Biryani, which I can confidently say is the best I've ever had in...the world. The combination of aromatic spices and perfectly cooked chicken made it a true culinary delight. The restaurant's attention to detail and quality of food make it a must-visit for anyone craving exquisite Indian cuisine.More

We, a family of 3 went to Samudhra for lunch - Sept. 2023. As other reviewers have noted, their dress code policy (specially when it comes to children) is "buggy" to say the least. My son was wearing pants (which they considered athletic!!) and probably...would be in that category as well (he does wear them to school - so its but natural for him to be comfortable in them.) So we were politely told to "get out", as it seems that if my son were to enter and dine with those pants, all hell inside would break loose and others dining there would get deeply offended??!! How would they guarantee a well dressed person allowed entry will not be talking too loudly disturbing others? How would they distinguish a person who had already had a few too many to drink before even he enters but is well dressed? And for god sake, why is this policy so so important for children who are accompanying parents?! Btw, other kids with much less clothing on their bodies were happily permitted to go in - maybe the whole body scan only scans clothes, not bodies!!!! So you are better off wearing less than more!! Totally junk policy, a policy i have seen nowhere and hard to understand how a person (specially a kid) wearing a so called "athletic" costume is in any way be "fit" to be discriminated against a person wearing a formal wear when both are equally capable of dining as well as paying the dining charges. Parents with kids - send them their pictures before hand and get approval before you there to dine!!! I will not be dining at this place again, although i do admit the food is good.More

well wanted to go Samudhra for a long time but as it’s a 50-minute drive, I was chucking the plan. Yesterday I got the chance and decided to have the experience of this fine dining. I was aware of the dress code, but I was...in CROCS, and I got in, In fact, I saw one guy in shorts, so not sure how strictly it is followed there. Big entrance..!! The dedicated receptionist is there to take you to your tables. just make sure you are 'presentable'. we didn't have reservations, but it was a weekday, so we did not have to wait. we got settled and in no time, the server was there to take our tables. bar code is there to scan the menu (I guess I am still old school, it's annoying to scroll up & down your 6-inch mobile screen). So whenever I go to any famous restaurants, I ask for their specialty (bestselling dishes), below items are based on Server recommendations. Khandari Machli - well presented, soft fish with batter fried... batter was a little bit blunt though, but in a way, it's good. I can taste the fish rather than the batter - 3.5/5 Gosh Sukha- I had better in Rajni, Parsippany. but it was equally good. the only thing I want them to change is, to remove bone pieces. 4/5 Punu Gulu- I don't know how to explain it, South Indian folks must know it, see the picture though. My veg friend liked it. 4/5 Hyderabadi Murgh Dum Biryani: coming to my favorite topic BIRYANI. the server came to us while we were having appetizers and informed us- "Sir if you want to order biryani, pls order now as we have a limited quantity. I was like -' what!!' - So I 'BOOKED" my biryani well in advance. so, it seems Ghost Biryani is famous here and people booked it while making reservations, and that's why goat biryani was sold out. anyway, I had Murgh dum and although it was light in taste, somehow, I liked it. Perfect long-grained rice, soft in chewing, mix of spices, pieces were well cooked, I liked it (and yes no charge for onions- lemons :P- 4/5 Tawa Paneer - best veg items on their menu I believe. Veg folks who love paneer- go for it. 5/5 Andhra Kodi Kura Chicken - The server suggested it, but yeah it was okayish... 3/5 Price: Every item in the range of $20-26- so it’s not that expensive. Portion: It's huge! We could not finish our main course items, so we packed the rest. Service: It was very prompt, you didn't have to wait for anything, or for any dish too long. they are very quick. bringing more water, suggesting try this with that, very courteous- definitley5/5 Ambiance: dim light, cool decor, dark orange themed, but at the same time, it's very loud. I understand it is fine dining but let’s except we are Indians and we are loud. :D Restrooms: clean, well maintained. I can see their lunch options, where they serve unlimited thali for $20-24, wish I lived nearby. I want to try their thalis. Overall it was one good experience and IMO it’s 4/5More

Horrible Horrible place. I personally think their management must open their eyes and evaluate their shift managers. Manager in the Lounge was the worst i had faced during my whole life. She was the most unprofessional and unethical person. Now lets come to the drinks,...over priced and not really good. Their food is the worst again at the price u pay. I think this restaurant will not last long. You need professional staff, good food and management to run a good restaurant but this place is missing all.More

Do not go to this restaurant with kids. They are kid unfriendly as many have already stated here. They expect kids to be in a suit as well which is ridiculous. The mgmt better wake up and get their front staff trained in basic courtesy.

*** Please note that this is not a review of the restaurant food but sharing our recent experience of customer service that we encountered with one of their staff members - “Mr. Raj V”. *** We have been to this restaurant numerous times since it’s...inception including multiple dine-ins and takeouts even though it’s an hour drive from our home. We have always respected their dress policy and never had related issues or concerns even though we get awkward looks from the front-desk employees when they x-ray the folks as soon as they step into the door. Earlier today, we made a reservation to celebrate the (religious) New Year and our Wedding Anniversary which fell on the same date. As we stepped into the restaurant, we experienced the usual top-to-bottom scans from the front-desk folks but we got used to these awkward stares from our previous visits to this spot. We were prevented from getting the table as Mr. Raj V. felt that our 9-year old son was in track pants (plain dark gray joggers) even though the rest of the party met their dress code requirements. I tried to reason with him to consider the kid’s pants not meeting their dress code as a one-time exception and we would ensure that it would not be repeated next time. He was very insensitive and stereotyped us which made all of us very awkward. Mr. Raj mentioned that if my son entered the restaurant with his track pants on, the other guests would question him and leave the restaurant. I would like to note that, as many parents with young kids would attest, most of them do not prefer to dress up. Also, during my past visits, I have seen kids with sweatshirts, sweatpants and joggers. I don’t think most of the restaurant’s clients wouldn’t have an issue with kids violating this specific dress code unless it’s reasonable. Recommendation/Request for the Restaurant’s Management The front-desk staff consisted of two young teens (a girl and a boy) and Mr. Raj V. was the most senior employee there today. Mr. Raj himself appeared to be a college going kid with little customer experience. It might be helpful to have at least one experienced adult in customer service. Also, it might be helpful to give some leniency on how your staff are trained to treat young kids and older adults. As I mentioned earlier, Samudhra used to be our go-to restaurant as my son loves their Chicken Tikka Masala. As we got out of the restaurant, he said that Samudhra is no longer his favorite and he doesn’t want to come back. He felt very sad that he was the reason for ruining his parent’s anniversary dinner. We had to pacify him that he wasn’t the reason and tried to preach to him that one bad apple shouldn’t disturb us. I usually ignore such experiences and have never shared them publicly but I decided to share it as this person had caused unnecessary mental disturbance to my child. It’s unfortunate that one person’s behavior has tried to spoil our New Year (religious) and Wedding Anniversary celebrations. Hope that Samudhra’s management considers this feedback during the future training of their staff!More

We were here for Lunch based on recommendation of Friend. Food was excellent and yummy. Decor is very good. Lots of seating space. Waiting lounge is also there. We ordered Malai kofta, Paneer makhani, yellow dal. All these come with either Rice or roti. They...also have Veg thali for $ 20 and Non veg Thali for $22. Food was excellent and authentic. We will definitely go again. Service was bit slow as they took lots of time to serve our food.More
