I will never go back to that restaurant again. first of all, the lady at the reception was rude and said you have to book before coming. Basically it’s not walk-in and you have to book it online only. then , she said that my...kids cannot are not allowed as they were in track paints .They have a strict dress code. So , basically you to plan before going to this restaurant.. not at all welcoming and not people friendly. There are plenty of other restaurants out there which have better food and are quite welcoming.More

I provided a comment about their reservations policy in the reviews. When i entered in to the restaurant with my kids and , THE MANAGER had stopped and told me to remove the review to get the best service and best food else, he mentioned...that I am not allowed since it is democratic country . The lady who was in the reception started shouting at me in front of the public. The crew and THE MANAGER are completed unprofessional. Hope the CEO sees this and take necessary action on this ..More

This is not an upscale restaurant, this is a downgrade, run-down mess, ran by totally incompetent, biased racists. You may make money by overpricing regular dishes, trying to look upscale by enforcing a "dress code", but you have no idea what makes a decent restaurant....Treat your customers with dignity, respect your commitments and you've made a difference. This restaurant charges you $40 if you miss the reservation. Let me tell you my first hand experience with this upscale behaviour, they did not honor the commitment to reserve the table. We were very specific about our table reservation, it was a special occasion that this restaurant ruined . They gave it to someone else and shamefully asked us to "adjust" I have a right to be treated with dignity, if you cannot honor your commitment, then apologize and it's you who has to adjust, not me. Their reviews are full of their "niche" being biased, disrespectful and somewhat racist.More

We came here after receiving some recommendations from friends, and made Reservations for 4 people for indoor seating on a busy Saturday evening. We are not new to high-end Restaurants, and so some of their policies surprised and amused us – For example, --- they...have an explicitly stated dress code asking people not to come in gym wear, pajamas, sleepwear or flip-flops. Apparently they instated that after a few people actually did that. Wow! We also have a Heads-Up – they have a $40 charge for no-shows, and they take your credit card number when you call to make those reservations. Most definitely, they did all that inspired by their inconsiderate clientele. The décor is modern and classy, although we did not care much for the orange hue in the lighting which actually resulted in some pretty strange photos of all that appetizing food. The tables are adequately spaced apart for social distancing and the Menu is touch-less – sign of the times, well known by us now. The Staff is wonderful. As soon as we entered, we were greeted very warmly, pleasantly and super-courteously by Neeraja – the receiving Manager, who also stopped by our table a few times to check in on us during the course of our dinner. Our server, Katelyn was jovial and delightful. We were impressed with her knowledge, command and pronunciation of all the Indian dishes. We also observed a good team spirit and effort from the rest of the staff who served us, and cleared the used dishes off our table immediately in- between the different courses. The food was delicious even though we were expecting spicier flavors from the Hyderabadi dishes. For Appetizers, we ordered the Mirchi Bajji and Dahi ke Sholay. For the Main Course, we got the Khandari Machli, Bagara Baingan and Lagan ka Murgh, and for Dessert, we got the Double ka Meetha and Qubani ka Meetha. We shared all the dishes and were full and satisfied by the time we were done. All the cocktails were well made – especially the Mumbai Velvet Margarita. It is really nice to have an upscale Indian Restaurant with a full Bar in this area. Undoubtedly, the place will get busier as its popularity grows as word gets around. Since we do not live too far away, we will certainly visit again, but will just have to come on a week night or at a less crowded time – because we honestly were annoyed by the acoustics inside. Not entirely their fault – but the high ceilings, lack of insulation, and loud patrons with unruly kids arriving in large groups made it impossible to have decent and quiet conversations with people at our own table. We look forward to returning, and will send out some suggestions and recommendations to our restaurant-loving friends and relatives.More

Let me start out by saying we eat here quite regularly, staff and food is usually pretty good which is why I decided to have my husbands birthday here with 18 of our friends. I talked to the manager Rani 3-4 times the week of...his birthday to make sure they had heaters outside and was told yes they do. Morning of I get a text from another manager that they actually have never had heaters this season and she doesn’t know why I was told that. I said okay, mistakes happen and let it be. Thankfully it wasn’t too cold but clearly there is a lack of communication within the restaurant. Everything went well except the lamb chops were extremely over done and underdone in other parts. We told the manager/chef right away and they took them away. The manager let us know that they have a policy where they cannot discount or take off anything off of the bill regardless if the food is bad, not the right food, ect. Owners policy, which is ridiculous because restaurant kitchens make mistakes all the time. Our server (not sure of his name) but we’ve had him many times is always very very nice. Only good thing about the night was his service. Later on our group went to the bar to have shots, the bartender had a major attitude about shaking the shots because we wanted them chilled. She claimed they would be super chilled..like is that even a thing. If a customer wants a chilled shot then you give them a chilled shot. Not the first time we’ve had issues with attitudes of the bartenders at their lounge though. First time we’ve said something. At the end of the night the general manager came and my husband said I have feedback for you. Basically he said that in the hospitality business your staff shouldn’t have attitudes with their customers and that we would be leaving reviews. At that point the GM got defensive and said “are you threatening me?” First of all anyone can leave a good or bad review of any business, that is not a threat nor is it illegal. Second of all the GM should be calming the situation down and apologizing on behalf of his rude staff rather than starting an argument over it. My husband said under his breath “what an idiot” because he was so frustrated with the situation. We’ve never been treated like this at any restaurant. He proceeded to say he was going to call the police..which is quite funny because saying you’ll leave a bad review is not breaking any laws nor is calling someone an idiot. It’s only taking police away from doing their actual job and actual emergencies. At this point the GM went inside and was calling the owner who actually drove from his house to the restaurant. The owner showed up not trying to calm the situation but was defending his staff even though he had no idea what went on, except that his GM was called an “idiot” after threatening to call the police on us for saying we would leave a bad review. I’m sorry but you are an idiot if you are taking police away from actually doing their job and responding to actual emergencies. Leaving a bad review doesn’t involve the police and nor should it involve the owner. We paid the bill. As we walked out the owner was in the lobby with the chef, GM and a few other managers (6 employees standing in the front making a scene). He asked if this was our name and started a conversation. He was extremely defensive and argumentative. He kept saying that he doesn’t take anything off the bill no matter what, that’s the policy of the restaurant. Horrible policy and you will lose customers over this because restaurants make mistakes and they need to be able to fix their mistakes. Argued with us for 20+ minutes in his front lobby with customers in his restaurant..that will also make you lose customers. We got nowhere with him and left. I’ve never seen an owner argue with a customer over anything especially over food that wasn’t prepared right and staff who were extremely rude. As a restaurant owner you should know you need to calm the situation down. We were not asking for anything to be taken off but acknowledge the attitude with your staff. Update: The audacity of the owner of this restaurant. My husband after having a bad experience over the weekend for his birthday said he would give the restaurant (that we use to like) one more chance. As he was sitting down, already ordered food and drinks with two other guys. The server brings a phone over and it's the owner on the other line. He is telling him that he must make me take off the review I posted or else we are blacklisted and he must leave the restaurant right now. Everyone in our group that night, all 18 of us. He said he didn't need our business. Avoid this place!! There are so many other restaurants that have good food and 100000 times better service. They ended up leaving and we will never ever ever come back. I hope that others see this updated review and realize that even the owner doesn't care about his customers so why would his staff.More

We ate at Samudhra twice during our visit this past weekend to NJ. We enjoyed several appetizers and entrees that we did not get to try on our first visit last year. Paalak chaat and Andaa chaat were uniquely yummy. The Paneer tikka was the...best I ever had. Mysore Bonda was so crispy on the out and soft inside - a perfect fritter. Murgh Ka Bhartha, Dum Aloo, Butter chicken, Kodi 65, cheese Naan, Garlic Naan, Sabzi Dum pulao were all exceptionally delicious. The Qurbaani Ka Meetha and Jumbo Gulab Jamun will definitely delight any sweet tooth. The service was excellent with very attentive staff. If you want a relaxed evening enjoying high end Indian Cuisine in a top Notch Indian Restaurant and lounge, Samudhra is the go to place. The wonderful ambience, great hospitality and super delicious food make it an Indian restaurant par excellence.More
