We pulled in on a Friday at 230 - an unusual time to eat of course. We were - of course - the only ones in the place. But the kitchen was open [with staff of one]. Fortunately for us, that one really cook! We had a...lamb shawarma wrap and a chicken shawarma entree with pita and hummus. Both were great. [The house sauce is very tasty.] Our cook/server took a sincere interest in how we were doing. Highly recommended.More
I enjoyed every delicious bite of my Birthday dinner, made special by both the owner and chef who were happy to accommodate my vegan preference.A clean comfortable atmosphere with beautifully set tables, excellent service, and a variety of healthy freshly made choices for all. A...wonderful experience!More
This restaurant is worth a try. The food is homemade, the service is friendly and gracious. My dinner companion tried the fried cauliflower entree and absolutely loved it. She has been vegetarian for many years. This dish surpassed her expectations. I had a chicken entree....It was excellent. The portions are very generous.More
What a lovely experience in dining. We not only had the most delicious Mediterranean cuisine of Falafel and kebabs and backlava but we were educated about the cuisine and spices. This was not just a restaurant but an experience. Highly recommend this local restaurant.
I met a friend from out of town at Nizam's Mediterranean Cuisine last night for dinner. What can I say - this is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in a long, long time! The food was prepared with care, tasted homemade...and delicious. Service was professional and excellent. I highly recommend the lamb. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I cannot wait to go back and try a different entree. The tabouli is excellent. It is so nice to have this cuisine available in our area. I noticed the menu included a few vegetarian entrees. I plan to take a friend who is vegetarian next time I visit. I believe the restaurant serves lunch and dinner. Try it!More
This is in the smaller old Nizams Indian Cuisine building. My wife and I are big fans of Nizams Indian so we decided to try their new Mediterranean restaurant. Everything was very good! We had the Falafel (My first time) and I found it delicious....We also had Hummus with pita bread and the Both the hummus & Pita was amazing. Anyone who has had Nizams Indian's Naan, should know, They do the Pita bread right too! We both had the Chicken Shwarma wrap and for a simple wrap it was delicious. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, and again the Pita was soft, fluffy and tasty!. Something a little more exotic then french fries would be more fun as a side, but we did eat them all. A well made Baklava finished it off. The service was great and attentive as it always was at Nizams. Chef Syed even came around as friendly as ever to check on us and make sure everything was on point. The building has not changed much but there has been some improvements and upgrades to the inside. Prices are very reasonable & portions are generous. (we generally get at least 2 meals out of a visit) Both of Nizams locations are some of our regular go to local spots for a great meal.More
Frankly, my wife and I weren't fans of the restaurant that was recently at this location and is owned by the same owners. We love Indian food, we just didn't love how they did it. They recently moved to a bigger location, and in the...original spot they opened up this new restaurant serving Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. We also love that cuisine, so we figured we'd give it a try. WOW, are we glad we tried it! We were very impressed and pleased by the traditional foods.
My wife and my college-age son and I enjoyed all of the familiar foods we ordered. We shared falafel and tabouli appetizers (the tabouli serving was huge), and they were so good that they really did whet our appetites for our entrees. My son and I both ordered lamb shawarma platters (not a sandwich served wrapped in a pita). You can order the wonderfully seasoned, tender lamb over rice or over pita, and we did one of each. My wife ordered chicken kabobs which she also chose over pita. With entrees, you get a choice of one side: hummus, baba ganoush or tabouli. The hummus and baba were truly great.
The service was slow, but I'm guessing that will improve with experience, as this place is very very new. But more importantly, the servers were never indifferent or avoidant, it's just that the kitchen was slow.
We are so very glad we tried this place. Unlike its Indian predecessor, we intend to return again and again and again. We've found a happy new home to satisfy our Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food cravings.More
