This was a return visit. We were not disappointed The loin of lamb special was awesome. All the tables in the restaurant were full. Glad we made reservations.

Rudi’s is an amazing find in the midst of Portsmouth’s busy downtown. Walk down narrow High Street, look to your left at a series of beautiful wrought-iron and glass windows, see a white column, flowers, and a glorious garden of kale, basil, and flowers. Walk through the heavy wooden and glass door at number 20 and into a small, well-lit... More
I attend a HUGE family gathering at Rudi's which may have been too much for some restaurants however not Rudi's. The food was mouth watering. I had the atlantic salmon and my boyfriend had the steak. The service was timely and the staff was customer friendly.
We met some friends visiting from CA for lunch-food choices were basic with original twist to them-great flavor, good beer on tap, great prices-we were there midday-were not rushed, had great service in a wonderful setting. Even small parking lot in the middle of the city!
Have been to Rudis a number of times this past summer for Sunday brunch and each time it was fabulous. Have been in small and larger family groups and service was excellent each time. We somehow lucked out and managed to get the same server each time , Maureen, who was attentive and friendly. She even recognized us from an... More
With so many restaurants in Portsmouth it is great to have one that offers so much. The food is great with daily specials that are thoughtful and in season to capture the freshest ingredients available. From the flavored butter (that changes often) served with their warm bread to the homemade soups you can’t go wrong. Absolutely love the Rudi Burger... More

The wine bar is the stunner, but the back and original gas such character with the piano player and winning cocktail maker Tom, it's always a treat. The best part of Rudi's,... More
This was my second time here and it was just as exceptional as the first time. Service was great, even though a little slow today. Food was prepared to perfection and presented in a beautiful fashion. The place is quite. I recommend this place for a quite excellent meal.
Wouldn't recommend this placed on the following basis: 1. Our waitress (don't know her name but had a nasal voice) was the most bored and unenthused waitress I ever came across. Screwed up our order but didn't charge us for it when we didn't want it. 2. Food is mediocre - sounds better when you read the menu.Bread was the... More
