We've been here before and were very happy to return. This time we ordered the Irish Benedict. You get a ton of home made corned beef hash with perfectly cooked poached eggs and seasoned home fries. It's a small place but worth the wait.

Cute little intimate venue, maybe a little too cozy in spots (the servers had to worm their way around a few spots) but we had a nice table in the back w/a responsive waitress. I would get there early because we got there a little before eight, left a little before nine and a line was forming. Definitely recommend.

The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crispy, the coffee hot and delicious. The locals eat here, so you know its good.

The food here is very good. If you are looking for something better than a diner this is it. often they have very creative items but you can get all the staples here too. Lines are the only issue but worth the wait.

Went here on a snowy weekday. Luckily we got a table right away, we often see people waiting outside. It is small and very cute inside. The specials looked delicious but they were so many options to choose from! I had the irish eggs which were poached eggs w/hollandaise on top of corned beef hash. One egg was a little... More

I am very fussy about my omelets. Had the "western" here. Not impressed with an uninspired omelet served up with excellent home fries and too thick cinnamon bread. The omelet was bland with under cooked large chunks of peppers (red and green) and under represented chunks of ham. It was more like a salad omelet. Cheddar cheese was mild, I... More

I had the eggs benedict and it was perfectly prepared. This was my second trip to this restaurant and it was just as good as I remembered.

My husband and I went for breakfast here. Small cute place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My husband had the "Down East Special" which was perfect because he can never decide between eggs and pancakes. He felt that the bacon was a little over cooked but I think most people like it that way. The pancakes were light... More

We found Colby's by browsing TripAdvisor and the other positive reviews could not be more accurate. It is a small restaurant with a very cozy feel to it and we were immediately greeted walking in the door. Although there was a short wait, we were able to wait outside and enjoy complimentary coffee. The Bloody Mary was excellent (and I'm... More

As breakfast places go in Portsmouth; and there are many that serve a great breakfast; Colby's is one of my go to places as a local. Colby's generally follows a long 2 hour exercise regime with a rewarding breakfast. There are always specials listed on the blackboard. A rather short but eclectic menu; just about everything is good, and if... More
