This wonderful, small restaurant has been one of our favorites for years. Ownership just changed, but it's still wonderful. Food is well prepared and portions fair. Quiet atmosphere, amazing view of the river. Stadler Chicken is my favorite.

The Wellington Room offers a true dining experience. This is evident from the moment you walk into the small upstairs space overlooking the river. You are made welcome by the owner who sees to your wine choice forthwith and is only too happy to explain the specials. We opted to split the crab cake appetizer which was delicious and a... More

This restaurant was just lovely from start to end. The owner and her brother both work at the restaurant, are very personable and wonderful to chat with. The ambiance is small, classy, private, intimate. Dinner was delicious from the first bite to the last. We went there for an anniversary dinner, and they made it caring, friendly and special.

Went for our anniversary dinner. Even though we called that morning they were able to fit us in and we still had an excellent table with a great view of the Piscatauqua river. Started with heirloom salad with English pea pesto. It was outstanding. I had the seared scallops and my husband had the flat iron steak. Both were cooked... More

My wife and I came here after my TA research. We came on a Friday night and made reservations. After reviewing this place I reserved the beef wellington which is only served on Friday night on a first come first reserved basis. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately as there were only 4 or so tables seated... More

All six of us tried different entries and loved every bite. Sit at the bar if you like to chat with locals. The wait staff were professional, knowledgeable and super friendly. We will return!

We found this amazing restaurant only a few months ago and are so glad we did! The atmosphere is serene, the food prepared to perfection, and the service personal. It's so worth the hour drive we have to make, knowing our evening will be absolutely enjoyable!

This was not our first visit to this very fine intimate restaurant in downtown Portsmouth. It is a short walk from Strawbery Banke which we visited in the afternoon (very worth while). The menu is limited but varied. The service is impeccable and the food presentation and taste was superb.

Rarely do I gush about a restaurant, but I will make an exception in this case. What wonderful food! We started by sharing the Crab Cake. And a beautiful thing it was. No mealy concoction, more breading than crab, this was the real deal and the accompanying basil aioli landed it in the mouth watering category. On to the entrees.... More

The restaurant is small, service is wonderful and the food is excellent. We had a window table, as requested, and the view was great. The mussel appetizers were very generous and we could have shared but they were so good we were happy we didn't have to.The crab stuffed haddock and short ribs were very good. We ordered a pinot...
