Love, Love, Love this place for fish. They have the freshest in town ad cook it to perfection. When we don't have time to sit a while, we get take-out!

Very laid back easy and comfortable joint. Can eat inside or out side. Easy to get to. We were with a handicapped person so the outside was great. They bring the food to you after you order. Nice!!

We went to the Beach Plum and really enjoyed 10 Ounce Lobster rolls. How can one find a better deal to get the meat of 3 lobsters for about $20 ($25 but buy the gift card at least the day before and get 25% free...More

After eating at restaurants all over New England for the past 25 years, I finally found the best Lobster Roll here at the Beach Plum. Three different size lobster rolls before breaking into the lobster sub catagory.

...make it easy to order a perfect lunch. Of course, we ordered the largest one (12 oz.), along with fries, fried haddock, and onion rings and enjoyed our summer splurge. We topped it off with ice cream cones and were basically done eating for the...More

This is usually our first stop when we arrive- clam strips or a lobster roll and ice cream if we have room. Food is always good and we enjoy the lovely flowers and outdoor seating.

Had two superb lobster rolls here. Children's food was excellent also. I will definitely return. It is crowded, so ordering ahead is advisable.

The Beach Plum has the best Lobster Roll around. Whether its winter, spring, summer or fall-we take a ride the Plum to grab a Lobster Roll. You have to get a side of drawn butter and it just adds to the sweetness of the lobster....More

They weren't the best lobster rolls we had on our trip (we like our warm) but they are very generous with the amount of lobster. They have various sizes of lobster rolls and other seafood.

I wish The Beach Plum could deliver to Michigan. It's my New Hampshire family's go-to for to-go orders. This lobster roll delighted my taste buds. Chunky, not overly dressed with mayo--mostly meat. The chowders are also sublime. And lots of options for folks who want...More

We don't take reservations but our tables turn over very quickly with food on your table usually in 7 minutes from the time you order at the front counter. So even on the busiest days you'll get a table in 5-10 min. No 1-2... More

Description
The Beach Plum opened in 1992 at North Hampton state beach as a breakfast and lunch restaurant. The next year, a better location became available just down the street (at it's current location) and it became a take out food and ice cream stand. That original location continues to operate seasonally April - October each year. Based on strong growth in the business at that beach location, a second Beach Plum location was opened at 2800 Lafayette Road (Route 1) in Portsmouth on St Patrick's Day 2011. This Portsmouth location features an expanded menu that includes award winning fried seafood with both indoor and outside deck dining. The Portsmouth Beach Plum was featured on TV Diner in 2012 and Phantom Gourmet in 2011 which named it as a Great 8 restaurant for both it's famous lobster rolls AND fried clams. The Beach Plum is believed to be the only restaurant in New England to be so honored as 1 of the 8 best for BOTH seafood specialties. In December 2015, a new Beach Plum opened at the Brickyard Square Plaza, 24 Calef Highway (Route 125),Epping,NH. That location shares the same menu as this Portsmouth location.
