They claim that this is the place for fried clams but we found them to be a little too greasy and heavy. They had sitting inside but it smelled very stale, so we sat in the picnic tables outside. They had a good crowd for...More

Very popular spot for locals and tourists looking for well made fried clams. Order at window, take food to picnic tables. Nothing fancy, but one of the better clam joints we ate at in two weeks in New England

This is your classic seafood drive-in joint. Our visit consisted of four individuals in which each order did not disappoint. We each had a fried seafood dish and each was fried perfectly. Prices are in line with other similar places and portions will not disappoint....More

I recently visited the Tamarack while on vacation. The place wasn't overly crowded perhaps three or four people waiting in front so my wife and I decided to stop and place an order. All those in front had already placed their order so we went...More

I stopped by Tamaracks recently and we decided to try a few small dishes. We split a jumbo lobster roll, crab cakes and a shrimp dinner. All three were fantastic. The picnic tables could use a little TLC they were dirty and trays were everywhere....More

Hungry and headed home, we ran into this place and decided to stop. Our order consisted of fish bites, crab cakes, fries, and a hot dog. Fish bites were excellent and cooked perfectly. No extra grease. Crispy fries were good too. The crab cakes were...More

Waited forever for the food (too busy). Got to car and found out that the $26 lobster roll was missing! Went back, only to get hassled, but got my roll! The steak sandwich ordered without onions, came with LOTS of onions. The fries were way...More

Hi Manchvegas. I'm Jim & I'm the owner of Tamarack. I am sincerely sorry that you didn't enjoy your meal here but I would like to reply to a couple of your comments. 1st, we do use 100% North Atlantic (Maine & Canada) lobster. A few of the previous owners used langostino & other fillers in the Lobster Rolls but we don't. You're ordering & expecting & paying for Lobster and that is exactly what you get! I'm very sorry you didn't enjoy yours. Please come back, introduce yourself & I promise I'll make it up to you! 2nd. About 1/2 a mile away is the last sewage pumping station for Laconia. About 2 days EVERY summer, something happens(I don't know what!) and you can smell it throughout the whole area. It is not our septic system as we are on town septic and do not have a system of our own. 3rd.We filter our fry oil at LEAST twice a day and sometimes 3 times and we replace our oil before it burns out. Again, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meal. Please let us make it up to you! Sincerely, Jim Clayton Tamarack (603) 366-9300
