After being closed for a couple of years, THE has reopened under new ownership. It was always a Jackson favorite, and I think the food is better than ever. The new owners have experience with two other restaurants in Newton, MA. The menu is simple but very creative. It's like gourmet food in an apres-ski environment. The only complaint was... More

Kudos to Jeff & Kate Fournier for reinventing & reopening the Thompson House Eatery. The premises have a fresh, clean, more simplistic look, and the food is excellent. THE is a winner! Kate was greeting patrons and acting as hostess. Her friendly welcome and interaction with guests was infectious. The same can be said for our server, Scarlet. We ordered... More

My husband and I spent the last two days in Jackson and we were pleased to see that the Thompson House had reopened. The updates to the restaurant itself were subtle but well done - keeping the great bones of the building that already existed but paring back some of the decorative elements to a basic, clean look. The food... More

I have never eaten in the same restaurant two nights in a row, until tonight. What pulled me back was the smoked onion tomato soup. It was delicious the first night and did not let me down the second. The flavor was a deep hearty warm tomato with a wonderful smoked cedar smell that gave me the euphoria of sitting... More

My wife organized a dinner for 30 people. Upon arrival we were greeted by Kate Fournier, the owner, her husband, Jeffrey, is the chef. She was very gracious and guided everybody to the tables. The staff was very efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. Service was prompt and the food was excellent. They set up a special menu for us that included... More

Party of 10 on a Saturday night: great ambience, warm welcome, knowledgeable staff, prompt service, amazing menu by chef Jeffrey Fournier (so hard to choose from among entrees that two of our party opted for Chef's choice and were happy with the plates presented to them) - beautifully prepared, a memorable meal and evening among friends and family. Already planning... More

So happy to see that the Thompson House has re-opened, within the past week. Must make a reservation unless you want to eat at the high top tables near the bar. Nice ambiance in an old barn like building. The new owners previously had restaurants in Newton, Mass and have plans at Thompson House for a 2 acre summer garden... More

We caught them in their first week as they ramp up to a full menu and staff and the addition of lunches soon. Everything was fresh and delicious with a new approach that is way out of the ordinary. I'll always love the old T.H.E. but this new version will not disappoint and you should give it a try. The... More
