We live in Campton and have our choice of several restaurants within a few miles of each other. This is our go to place along with most locals. The food is always very good, with an attentive waitstaff. I've been a customer for many years, and even though the placed changed hands many years ago the consistent excellent menu hasn't.... More

Came here with my girlfriend since the last time we visited we went to Woodpeckers. Right off the bat, the hostess told us there would be a 15-20 minute wait, which we thought was strange since there were multiple tables that were open. I thought the food was just okay, nothing thy really blew me away. My burger was over... More

The steak tips were overcooked and not enough for the price. The fish was cooked nicely and the bread was fresh with warm butter. I ordered "medium rare" steak tips and they arrived "well-done." Disappointed.

Stopped in after a day of driving around. Waitstaff was attentive and nice. Had burgers and other pub grub. Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary at a local tavern. Would stop in again, would have been nice if there were more TVs for the football games.

We used to love this restaurant - our favorite in the area. After years away we returned for Columbus weekend. We sat right down as we were so early because we are traveling with our children. We were so disappointed with the food that we had once though was so great. We had the steak tips and the newburg. The... More

Love eating here. We always have a great time. Visiting with friends and neighbors while having a great meal. All our servers have always been very quick to make sure our drinks are full and our food is hot.

After a long day of skiing, we were tired and hungry. On a recommendation from our lodge at Waterville Valley we went to the Mad River Tavern. We made a 7pm reservation. We arrived at 6:50 and were promptly seated. At 7:10 we ordered a kids meal and both my son and I ordered steak, a veggie, fries for him... More

And the butternut squash salad, with cranberries, almonds, romaine, bacon bits and poppy dressing - worth the trip from Boston! Unsure what to have, just ask Renee, who is attentive but doesn't rush you. Best time is right before the 6.30ish crowd. Must do when in the area!

After a full morning of hiking we were looking for a nice hot meal and a cold beer. The lunch menu is fairly basic, but should have something for any taste. We both ordered the crab cake sandwiches. The portions were good and the roll was nice and fresh. The crab cake was a little on the mushy side and... More

Took a break in between horse back riding over Thanksgiving. Food was warm, reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and swift. Great burgers, fries, and desserts. Not a fancy place, but good eats.
