Wow what an outstanding evening! Extraordinary food, beautiful view of the lake from up high on a hillside, and even a little extra entertainment watching a wedding right outside the window (but not blocking our view of the sunset). The BEST Chilean sea bass I've ever had, prepared perfectly! A large slab of fresh, tender, miso-glazed salmon accompanied by the finest lobster bisque we've ever tasted (loaded with lobster meat thanks to our fantastic waiter, Karen (a male server, btw). Lava cake for dessert that was to die for, and Karen surprised us with an extra dessert in honor of our Anniversary celebration. We accompanied the meal with an outstanding wine by the glass; The Chart House offers some of the BEST quality wines by the glass by utilizing the Coravin wine preservation system. We've never had such a great choice of quality wines by the glass anywhere else. The Chart House is owned by Landry's, and I was so impressed with them that I joined Landry's SELECT Club, providing points and rewards at over 600 restaurants around the country! It cost only $25 to join and I received a $30 discount on this outstanding meal the first night! You get a $25 reward for every $250 spent (10%), and that takes only one to two visits to one of their many high quality restaurants. We are "foodies" and we have not found a better restaurant yet around Lake Tahoe, not even Harrah's Friday Station (whose prices have gotten insane this year, by the way.) Our highest recommendation goes to The Chart House at Lake Tahoe, and we are now looking for other Landry restaurants to visit as California regulations begin to allow fine dining to return indoors.

This is our second visit to this Chart House and we enjoyed the scenery and the food. Reservations are recommended as they get busy in the summer evenings. They have a pre fixe menu with three items which is very reasonable for the size of servings. I debated having them omit the mashed potatoes as I really wanted to save my calories for desert. I am glad I didn't as they were the best mashed potatoes I have ever eaten. I was able to have a taste of a friends Key Lime pie and it was excellent - very smooth and creamy. Waitress did a good job as she was patient with my friend you changed her mind on which bottle of wine to get about three times. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

Came here on Valentine's Day with my wife. Though we were seated in the downstairs portion of the restaurant you could still see a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe as service and dinner was good. This is a go to place for scenery as you are a pyre and have a good view of the Lake they do have outdoor areas that you can go outside and see. I had the prime rib while the wife had fish both were enjoyable.

We visited for the first time as part of our 35th anniversary getaway to Lake Tahoe. The setting was great particularly for a booking around sunset, which was spectacular. Other than that, the rest was average at best. We had the Wild Tuna appetizer which was the best part of the meal. My wife and I both had the scallops and shrimp dish which was overall not very good - couscous was dry and stuck together, shrimp was dry and overcooked. I also had the salad bar, which was fine but nothing above an average fast casual salad bar. The service too was average at best. We sat for almost 30 minutes with only water, waiting on drinks and bread. The rest of the service was really slow and a couple of times requests were forgotten or long in coming (another 10 minute wait to get water refilled during dinner). While not being rude, the service was just very slow and not attentive. Overall not a good value for the prices. Given the other local choices we will not be back.

My fiancé and a friend of ours had a wonderful dinner here. In fact, we both believe we had the best salmon we’ve ever had and we’re in our mid 50s!! I had the King Salmon offered as the day’s special and he had the blackened King Salmon. Mine was terrific and his may have been even better! The basket of freshly made warm bread was tasty, and we augmented that with an appetizer of the crab, avocado and mango stack. Delicious and plentiful to split - otherwise, consider it for a meal. Our meal finale was a red velvet lava cake with sprinkles of Heath bar crumble. Divine... The service was kind and prompt. The ambiance inside was warm, content, and romantic. During daylight hours, I’ve heard it has great views. There’s almost a solid wall of windows, so I can only imagine what a treat the scenery would offer. If we’d been staying another week, I’m quite sure we’d have returned. The dishes are amply full of calories, but the dining pleasures were worth the investment! Treat yourself to a nice dinner. Without wine, our tab (without tip) was $191. Not inexpensive...

So many things go into a great restaurant experience - who you're with, the restaurant environment, prices, the server, and the food and beverages. I was with my love, so that started things out well. The environment was warm, rich in color, comfortable, and clean. Prices were has I remember them from another Chart House. Our server, Andrea, was a delight and significant to making this a wonderful visit. Our drinks were good, and my love really enjoyed her chocolate bourban drinks. But, what made this visit tops was the prime rib. Every time we go to Chart House we want prime rib and based on taste, perfectly cooked, and price, we were not disappointed. It was fantastic!

We went to the Chart House for a nice dinner for two. It didn't disappoint. I had the swordfish and my husband had a steak. We shared the mud pie. They recommend making reservation because they are seating people at every other table because of Covid. You have to wear a mask going to your table of course. The menu is slightly smaller which is understandable. We were so happy they were open for dine in. Service was great.

Haven't been to this restaurant in 30 years. The view is still the same. Unfortunately COVID had some effects. In NV occupancy in restaurants is 50%. In some ways it made the evening better, less noise and could hear without raising voice. Social distancing was observed as best as possible. The food was wonderful, sadly no more salad bar due to corona virus concerns. Price is about the same as the restaurant in Monterey. Only concern was our server. Initially she was good. Once dinner was served she did not check on us regarding how our meal was or replenish water. We only heard from her at the end when asking if we wanted dessert (which we were too full to enjoy). Otherwise a very good dinner evening watching sunset from our table.

We spent a week in South Lake Tahoe and visited Chart House 3 times - 2 for dinner and 1 for happy hour. I think that says it all! We tried the filet, several salmon dishes and of course the lava cake as well as the homemade ice cream. The Chart House goes out of their way to make outstanding dishes. Our server on the first night was amazing and really set the tone. He was always prompt, made us feel welcome and even mentioned the Landry’s program. Our happy hour experience wasn’t as great. I would trying to sit around the bar versus in the backroom. And our last night for dinner was just as yummy but our server didn’t quite measure up to night one. She seemed hurried and just wanted to take our order to get it out of the way. Regardless of those few less stellar experiences I would still highly recommend Chart House for the view (try to make the sunset!) and the delicious food.

Came here with my boyfriend for a Saturday 8pm reservation. Unfortunately, we waited for 30 minutes before they gave us our table but the food definitely compensated for that. We ordered the $41 three course deal (Caesar salad, salmon and chocolate cake) and the blackened mahi. The salmon was definitely the highlight! We felt that tables were sufficiently apart that we safely ate indoors. Aside from the wait, our only complaint is that the bread wasn’t that great as it felt a little stale. Other than that, it was delicious (yet pricey!) Check the menu before you come and make a reservation!

The Restaurant is set in a fairy tell setting and once you enter you are greeted by an amazing staff even during Covid-19 guidelines. We had the Crab Cake appetizer and the Stack appetizer and oh so yummy. We had the Steak and lobster special and the lobster was cooked perfectly. Thank you so much for making my Christmas day meal an amazing experience. I will be back.

We came to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were visiting this area and after a week of hiking we wanted a nicer restaurant. The Chart House delivered! Our service was excellent and our prime rib was delicious. I actually asked to swap my mashed potato for a baked potato. I have a thing with dinner and what goes with what, mashed potatoes do not go with prime rib! Even my husband took some of my huge potato as he said the mashed weren’t great. A side order of mushrooms, yum! We had the set price dinner, can’t remember what they called it but for $50 you chose soup or salad, prime rib and a lava cake for dessert. Our friends ordered a lava cake too but in reality it’s sooo rich we should have given them one of ours as we split one anyway! Too bad the views of the lake were hampered by the smokey haze. Excellent experience!

They went above and beyond everything I asked for. We brought in a cake and they displayed it beautifully. They had such great service and even had special menus that congratulated the couple! I would highly recommend The Chart House. The food was wonderful and service was too! Thanks for making our special event so special!

The food was good. The pomegranate martini was a very short pour and lukewarm when served. The JD on the rocks came over crushed ice. So bad! The service was terrible. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The setting of the restaurant is so beautiful, try to get a window seat. Steak was cooked to perfection, and the stuffed shrimp accompaniment were a little dry. Very tasty mojitos and our carry out of key lime pie was decadent. I would like to return to this restaurant.
