We had Wienerschnitzel with soup and salad and a pilsner beer from Czechoslovakia. The Brussels sprouts soup was good, the salad had a good vinaigrette dressing. The Wiener schnitzel was very good. Service was good. We bought dessert to go in the adjoining store. It was honeycomb and was super good. It was a treat in a traditional German setting.

My husband is German (both parents from Germany) and he knows his German food. We found this place by accident when we drove by it, and decided we had to try it. We were so glad we did. The potato and cabbage soup was fantastic (although I cannot recommend the salad and will not order it again), and the Rouladen... More

I recently drove by Bavarian World and decided that I must stop by sometime. Well, I finally made it and I went two days in a row! I first bought some knackwurst, red krout, pretzel buns, and some danish. I wasn't disappointed with the quality or the taste of all of my choices. I went back the next day for... More

Something Bavarian, tasty, and with a homely atmosphere. We heard about it being a good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. So we went there for breakfast and another day for lunch. Both times were satisfying.

You really can't find better german food than what you find here. Excellent schnitzels and great sauerbraten. They have a wonderful bakery too. Pastries that make you want to toss the diet out the window. And yes, you can have good german beer with your meal although the choices are a bit limited. The service can be a tad slow... More

Restaurant is nice. There are some fun displays of German stuff. I was there for lunch and had veal links, potatoes, and red cabbage....good, not great. There was one server for the whole restaurant. Poor guy was running all over the place. Gave him a big tip for his efforts. They have a dance floor so maybe it would be... More

We discovered this gem while making our way back to the hotel and we just had to try the fare. It was slow for a Thursday night but we came for the food, not the crowd, and were not disappointed. Service was exemplary, very friendly and knowing the entrees would take longer since they were made from scratch allowed us... More

We've been going to Bavarian World since we first moved to Reno in 1988. This is our favorite local family owned restaurant and one we always take visitors to. Don't judge it from the outside, please. I believe it may have originally been a grocery store and the interior is sort of stuck in the 1980's but the food and... More

Greetings from Menlo Park, San Francisco mid peninsula I am always on the lookout for any bakery that sells authentic apple strudel ..... and by that I mean strudel without the excessive sugar added to the crust and insided which is never needed if high quality apples are used. Santa Barbara's Danish bakery adds the most sugar of anyone and... More

I always order Bienenstich in advance to take home again. they have also a restaurant which services breakfast, lunch, and dinner. there is a bakery inhouse which makes broetchen and Ryebread and other cakes. A meat counter is available with cold cuts of sausages and wurst.
