Stopped for lunch while traveling and were glad we did. Service was prompt and welcoming and food was reasonably priced, plentiful and tasty!
We came here two mornings in a row for breakfast. It was quite good. We had a to wait a bit to get seated, order and get our food, but they were busy. The breakfast sandwich was tasty. The homemade bread is good! I ordered...the bacon "well done" and they got it right. Most places barely cook the bacon enough. Debi even came by our table to ask how everything was. That was so thoughtful! Be sure to catch this place when you're in town!More
Loved the breakfast burrito. The salsa was different but really good. Fresh brewed iced tea topped off a good meal.
Nardi’s is good value for the money. The portions are huge and make the prices reasonable. They do breakfast well and seems to have a lot of regulars. One downside that despite it being a breakfast and lunch place it doesn’t open until 8. Another...is the menu is fairly limited. Despite this as long as you can wait until it opens I highly recommend it for breakfastMore
A “must try” for visitors to Ely. The pancakes were light and fluffy, the best I’ve ever had (maybe tied with The Hanger Cafe in Fredericksburg Texas for the best pancakes I’ve ever had). My wife had French toast, which she also rated as excellent....Hard working staff was stretched pretty thin but did a great job.More
The restaurant had just closed minutes before we got there but Debbie, the owner, ushered us in and insisted that she feed us. And we are SO happy that she did. We both ordered the blackberry and bacon grilled cheese sandwich and I can only...say it was AMAZING! She and her entire staff were so kind and wonderful to us, and took the time to chat. Wonderful experience- DON’t miss it!More
My family and I went to this restaurant on 1/18/2021. It was busy but we were seated quickly and brought coffee. A large party was seated after us, and another couple came in and were seated about 15-20 minutes after us. The food looked great...and we were really looking forward to our meal. A few more customers came in and were seated at tables across from us. After 30 minutes, the waitress who seated us, took the large parties order that had arrived behind us. While the large party’s order was being taken, another wait staff came over to the couple that arrived 15-20 minutes after us and took their order. The wait staff obviously knew these parties as they lingered and visited with them all. The waitress then went to the two separate parties, also locals, that had arrived 30 minutes after us and told them she would be with them in a minute. All this, and never even an acknowledgement that my family of 3 was sitting there with just coffee for over 30 minutes. We left cash for the coffee and proceeded to leave. The waitress who seated us said as we walked out that she didn’t see us there! I told them we had been seated before all the orders she had just taken, by her, and left. We were traveling through town and had really been looking forward to a good breakfast and this was a huge disappointment!More
I stopped in Nardi's for lunch and had the bacon grilled cheese with blackberry jam. The sandwich was awesome and huge. I only ate half at the restaurant and the other half after a short hike at Great Basin NP. I did finish all of...the housemade potato chips at the restaurant though and I'd go back just for those. Service was great, I was the only customer though. Staff was wearing masks and the restaurant was clean but I didn't stay inside long. I would definitely eat here again.More
Great food, is always amazing. Service is wonderful. Always large portions . Their onin soup is the best I've ever had.
Had a good and bad experience at Nardi's. The staff was excellent, the kitchen help were less than accommodating. Started with them being out of gravy for Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. 20 minute wait for them to make gravy. Now they were out of...biscuits, would NOT substitute a single biscuit from biscuits and gravy for two regular biscuits. Menu was wrong, stated 4 slices of bacon and only got 2. Called them on it and was told it was a misprint. Heard the kitchen staff tell the waitress at 11:45 they stopped serving breakfast and would NOT take any orders for lunch until 12:15. I watched the new patrons arrive and sit for 30 minutes with only something to drink. Food was good and waitress was very apologetic about the situation.More
Nardi's used to be the Silver State cafe, new management, new menu. The choices are great the quality of the food is outstanding.
Homemade bread of all kinds for sandwiches. Foodies fat paradise. BLT to kill for...Ask for the Grilled Cheese loaded with bacon and a surprising jam and lick thw plate clean
We are glad we found this place. It wasn't easy, the sign outside had a different name I think. Anyway the breakfast was really very good, and we will make a point to stop here again the next time we pass through Ely.
Nardi's is also the Silver State Restaurant. In the past travels we have enjoyed lunch there several times; however, I don't know when they started serving their current Chicken Fried Steak (Dinner menu), but we had not tried it until now. Wow, the made-on site...gravy and batter crust are excellent. The steak is special also, its tender and large. It also includes either mashed or baked potatoes and a nice salad. The following day we returned and tried their 6 oz Chicken Fried Steak child's or senior's plate (Young or Young at Heart menu). It was more traditional with just one side, but larger than 6 oz. My wife was not real hungry, so she tried their grilled cheese. It was large sandwich; the homemade bread was at least 5-6 times thicker than the normal slice of bread.More
