The waitress is great and fun. It is very small and one of the original restaurants in Springfield, MO. The best thing to get is the burger. The onion rings are also great. Do not go there for a salad and tea, not happening. You...More

In town for a family get together, stopped by because a parent remembered the original Casper's from 50 years ago, before they moved to current location. Unique doesn't due it justice. Quonset hut building and food that is worth going out of the way for....More

Although very small, fun place to eat. Supposedly Springfield's oldest restaurant. Tried a Casperita - basically chili and cheese rolled in floured tortilla and smothered in more chili and cheese then topped with sour cream, lettuce and tomato. REALLY good.

This is a unique restaurant in an old style Quonset Hut. This is an one of a kind restaurant that is famous for it’s chili, they also have the basic hamburger, fries and onion rings. Atmosphere and decor is different. What I go for is...More

There is so much to see here. Small place. Small menu. But food is good. Definitely recommend the onion rings. So crunchy a.d so much flavor. My daughter could only finish half of her Stuff Coney with chili. It was huge!

Casper’s in Springfield was a fun place to eat although from the outside you might hesitate to try it. Its outside looks like a miniature airplane hangar tin can. The inside is nostalgic and a fun atmosphere. They are known for their chili and hamburgers...More

The problem with this place is that if you are not a regular you will not be greeted or have your order taken until the single waitress gets to you. The burgers and chili are pretty good but the onion rings, fries and fried pickles...More

My first visit, had heard the chili was outstanding. It was not. No heat, no flavor, very bland. My homemade chili is way better. But a quaint place with very nice people.More

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience! I apologize the chili was not to your liking, it is definately unique. We call it depression era chili and the cult follower diehards LOVE it, We are mostly known for our fresh ground...More

I visited Casper's today for lunch. Before traveling to Springfield, I searched Trip Advisor, and I narrowed down my selection to Casper's. I am glad that I did. The corrugated-tin-covered outside will make you smile, and so will the orange-painted, poster-covered inside. It's a great...More
