If you're wondering what dreams are made of...It's the food made here. My boyfriend told me "not to get the chicken noodle soup, you can get that anywhere". Was he ever wrong! It was the creamiest soup I've ever had. So good! We also got toasted ravioli (a must when in St. Louis!). Best toasted ravioli ever!! All the food... More

Excellent food & service! It also had a neat atmosphere. My husband & I ordered the toasted ravioli to start with & the shrimp scampi to share for our dinner, which was so good! (it was also a generous portion size) We are so glad we decided to come here & we would highly recommend if you are visiting the... More

This place was recommended by the Hyatt Hotel Concierge as a local and closer Italian place instead of going to the old Spaghetti Factory at the Landing on a football game night. The place definitely had a lot of character with an old feel with the wood trim and mosaic tile floor. It also had the smell of an old... More

I do not usually rate restaurants, but I had to rate this one. Charlie Gitto's was highly recommended to us, and we are so glad that we went. The sangria was excellent, you should definitely try it. I had the homemade cannelloni and it was by far the best that I have ever had. My girlfriend had the special for... More

Moved from St. Louis about 30 years ago. Back in town and looking for really good Italian food. Remembered Charlie Gitto's and knew it had a great reputation. Didn't disappoint. Fried raviolis were perfect, the paparadelle with tomato sauce was fantastic and the veal cordon bleu was terrific too. Homemade tiramisu was the best I've ever had. Great service from... More

This throwback restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately the quality and taste of the food did not add to the experience. The famous toasted ravioli and an eggplant special appetizer did not have much flavor, while the salads were enjoyed. The veal parm was served pounder and on the bone but didn't take like a quality piece of meat -... More

Went to dinner with 4 friends here. Better have reservations on a Friday night or you probably won't get a table. One of the people in our party knew to request the front area (older area with more ambiance). However, it was a nice evening and I wouldn't have minded sitting outside - but the front area was just fine.... More

I had the cannelloni. It had a metallic taste. When I mentioned this to the waiter he just grunted "huh" and made no attempt to correct the situation. The other three members of my party said the food was adequate...nothing special. No desire to return!

Veal Nunzio--get it and you will be glad you did. Were in St Louis and had to visit The Hill. We had a great waiter and nice weather after a hot day so we sat on the patio. A must if in the area.

This place was opened in the 70's and it appears that it's about the same as it was the day that it opened. Very cool collection of baseball pictures and memorabilia. I'm not a huge fan of Italian food, it's all pretty much the same to me, but I thought it was good. If you want to go back in... More
