We tried eel avocado and avocado rolls. They are small but tasty—low price too. The ramens were very good too: miso pork and steak. The eggs in ramen were fabulous—order an extra! Thai bubble tea and mochi great too. We ordered pick up and things...were well packed and ready on arrival. This place is NOT cute outside, but clean and nicer inside. This was my first time here, so I went inside to check out the menu. The entrance is sealed off except for a small window to order through and pay. You can use the drive thru, but I didn't know. The sushi chef was wearing...his mask below his nose and that made me uneasy. But since I had already paid and ordered I went ahead with taking my food. The sushi was alright, but the veggie ramen was better. The sweet potatoe roll was overcooked, but the sauce was good. The avocado roll was better, but it fell apart upon picking it up. Their name is now Yummi Tummi. Same owners. Same outstanding food. Strange concept, yes. But we love it. My picky husband gets the Turkey Club sub which is fantastic. I can get my Asian craving filled. The Ramen, sushi and poke bowls are all fresh...and delicious. I have tried many of them and have never been disappointed. This is a family owned business and Lily is the mainstay. She is very nice and attentive. Everything is made to order and perfection. It doesn't look like much from the outside. But it is nice and clean inside.More

If you want a tasty, toasty "sub" style sandwich, you are in luck. But if you crave freshly made, delicious sushi; or really good ramen, you are also in luck. Yes, it might seem like an odd combo of offerings... But it works!!! Yummy!!! Great!!
I have visited Toasty Subs twice and had sushi both times. It was fresh and well prepared. The sushi offerings are limited. Perhaps a good thing in order to keep things fresh. The price is right. The people are very polite.
Like others, we have waited so long for Tasty Subs to open, but – again like others – we can report that the wait has been worthwhile. Our first sampling of both the toasty sub and the California sushi rolls ~ made for us from...scratch ~ suggests that Maplewood has acquired another notable ‘eaterie’. Fresh ingredients, friendly and expert staff, and all in a spotlessly clean setting with ample seating inside and out, leads us to hope that Toasty Subs will be here for a long time to come. Our only quibble is the name – nothing there to suggest the broad sampling of sushi available; how about “Toasty Sushi”? That would pique some interest, if only for the apparent contradiction!More
