Nice venue in an art museum, but lousy food and well-meaning but poor service. We waited a long time for dinner, and were disappointed when it finally arrived. Pork loin was unappetizing, and the $33 KC strip was a poor substitute for what the meat should have been. Fish was OK, as were desserts. Maybe lunch is a better bet.

A Friday-night foursome with two out-of-towners who never had been to the museum. Sat in the courtyard -- quieter than inside, as there was one noisy party in there. Two of us had hanger steaks, the other two had pork chops. Steaks very nice, done as ordered, and sides were attractive and tasty. Pork chops were huge, but one was... More

When I was there it was clear from conversations between diners and the host that locals come here to eat because the restaurant is good, and their visit is not tied into a museum visit. I think that says a lot. The glassed-in courtyard is a very nice space, though it’s loud because of the stone and glass. I thought... More

I ate here awhile ago and was dissapointed, well I was not expecting much the other night, and rightfully so. Still no better, I ordered the chicken, which was chicken parts, not quality cuts. Bland flavor, and little meat. The chicken was served on a bed of grits which were quite good. I really would like to say that I... More

With a hint of sadness, we returned to Cafe Sebastienne for the first time since the unexpected death of executive chef Jennifer Maloney. The management is looking for her replacement, but in the meantime, the quality has not suffered. Talented staff continue Jennifer's tradition of serving some the freshest, most original dishes in Kansas City. It you have not yet... More

Very good food in a restaurant at the Kemper Museum with a fascinating art installation. Great service as well.

They serve the best Halibut I've ever had and they make my favorite martini. I've never had a meal there I didn't like. I love the atmosphere. You can't go wrong with art and great food.

This restaurant is inside the Kemper Museum and a delightful place to dine after visiting the museum. The decor is very creative and unusual and fun. The food is consistently delicious year after year. It is a local favorite for a nice evening out. Do dine here. You'll be glad you did! We have been several dozen times, always pleased.

... to describe how truly disappointing this experience was. Restaurant week is the time to showcase your food and menu; wow me so much that I want to come back out in the cold again soon to visit your restaurant. This was not a wow experience. The first course was described as: Roasted Butternut Squash Fondue (GF/NF/SF/VEGETARIAN) roquefourt, crostini There... More
