The service was excellent, even on a busy Friday evening. The food was very good standard American tavern fare. The setting oozes with historical charm. Overall a very good experience.

Management response:

Hi Peter, Thanks for your great review! We are so glad you enjoyed your meal! We know we are fortunate to have our historical building. Please come back and visit us again! Cheers, The Concert Hall and Barrel More

We had a group of 9 that went there for lunch. Service was good and she was friendly. I had the 12" bratwurst with homemade chips. Sandwich was good a little bit of the bun was dried out. Wife had pizza. She said it was ok but wished it had a crispier crust. Son had Hot Wings that weren't very... More

Food was decent, and prices were great. They also offer local brews from Tin Mill which was a plus; however, any indoor seating is on the other side of a wall from the smoking section. (gross!) We opted to eat outside and fortunately didn't have to deal with much smoke. I thought MO had a law against smoking in restaurants?

Great food, great atmosphere but service so so. It was super busy weekend so we understand the extended wait for a to go order but service staff were pretty unfriendly and really didn't seem to want to bother sending us to bar staff and back to servers. I would try again just because the food was that good when we... More

Had a Reuben and Tin Mill Brewing beer here on a Wednesday night. They were both great. Not too many customers. They have a juke box and I played a few songs to add a little life to the place. Would love to be here on a weekend when they have live music and crowds. Nice place!

We all had the smoked pork chop and it was very good. The service was a little bit jerky, but it was a crowded Friday night. Tin Mill brews are served and they are good. They allowed us to substitute some sides and that was nice of them.

Management response:

Hi Patrick, Thanks for your review. We are very happy you enjoyed the smoked pork chops and local beer! We are sorry that you experienced service that was unsatisfactory. We hope that you visit us again in the future. Sincerely, Concert Hall and Barrel More

On a very busy Saturday during the height of the Oktoberfest season, we visited the Concert Hall and Barrel Bar restaurant for an early dinner. We arrived at the restaurant just after 5:30 pm. We seated ourselves as we were told, and waited for 45 min for our table to be wiped clean and our drink and food orders taken.... More

This place was packed on Saturday during Oktoberfest. I felt bad for the waitresses. We ordered soft pretzels with cheese for the appetizer and schnitzel for dinner. All was very good. I adore red cabbage. Their German potato salad was tons better than the wurst house. Pizza looked good too. Thin, crispy crust. The schnitzel was tender and flavorful. We... More

Our group of six had a great time here during Octoberfest. Luckily, we chose to have an early dinner because the place was crazy busy and loud. There was standing room only as the night progressed. Our waitress was sweet, but overwhelmed making service a little slow. I had the Jaeger schnitzel dinner with red cabbage and German potato salad.... More

Description
Built in 1878, the Concert Hall and Barrel is the oldest continually operating tavern west of the Mississippi. Today we proudly continue a time-honored tradition of good food and good times in Hermann, Missouri. Wednesday through Sunday, we serve lunch and dinner, featuring German specialties year-round. Our menu includes a wide selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, steaks, pizzas and seafood. Our sports bar is a place where customers can eat, drink and socialize while watching the latest televised sports events on our numerous television screens. We have four big TV screens, and when the patio is open we add another! We serve a wide selection of local wines, craft beers, spirits and signature drinks. As in days of old, the spacious second-floor Concert Hall can accommodate a large group for rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, birthday parties, business meetings, and fundraisers. A private banquet room on the first floor may be reserved for smaller occasions. Located in historic downtown Hermann, Missouri, it's just a short walk from the Amtrak station, making it a great first or last stop in town.
