The root beer is homemade and amazing!! It comes in a chilled mug and is sweet like brown sugar. It is a real treat - in fact, try the root beer float. The food, however, is nothing special. Even the "Mile High Onion Rings", while...More

No visit to Hannibal would be complete without dining at least once (or twice or three times) at Mark Twain Dinette. The rootbeer is our favorite! The menu includes both standard diner food (done exceptionally well) with fun and intersting new things to try. My...More

Usually, they have above average food and service. The root beer is SOOOO GOOOOD! My latest stop, however, was a bit disappointing. My wife's Reuben sandwich was virtually tasteless. But she didn't want to complain. I would have. But, she's the boss (just ask her).

The homemade root beer is heavenly, the onion rings, burgers, maidrites, tenderloins, and catfish sandwiches (just to name a few) are all favorites!

I tried the Steampunk burger. I was there for the Big River Steampunk Festival after all. The bacon onion jam served with it was so flavorful. Root beer is served in an old-fashioned frosted mug and well worth trying.

Best place for Rootbeer and Maid-Rites! Might as well get an order of onion rings with the chili-ranch sauce. They are good

The Mark Twain Dinette has been a Hannibal tradition and must-stop destination since 1942. We are known for our Maid-Rites, homemade frosty mugs of root beer, famous breaded onion rings, and tenderloins. There was a transfer of ownership as of April 1st, 2015.
