Although this has become a Clayton institution, my wife and I never got around to dining here. We had an old friend in town who grew up in STL, moved away many years ago and had a hunger for toasted ravioli, so there we were....More

First time and did not disappoint. Service was great from Dawson. After reviewing the menu with us he suggested a great off the menu chicken dish for me which which was great. Look forward to trying something different on my next visit !

I love this restaurant. Great food and service. I've never been dissapointed with a meal and they are very nice about changing dishes to suit my needs.

I had to attend a business meeting at Cafe Napoli and I must admit, researching the menu prior to going, I was expecting the usual crappy mid-western take on Italian food. But I was happily surprised when the dinner was far beyond my expectations. This...More

Been there 3 times with friends, we would be there more if we lived in Clayton instead of NY. Best consistent Italian food you will eat with outstanding service. But you do pay for the pleasure, but you don't walk out upset!

This place is a couple of minutes walk from the Clayton Plaza Inn, where I was staying. They have a nice indoor space, but it was a balmy night, and I ate outside under a large tree on their patio. I had to move to...More

Six of us on a business trip set out to Café Napoli for an evening meal based on friends' recommendations and we were not disappointed. They have a very attractive and busy outdoor terrace with gas heaters. The weather was cool so we opted to...More

It is not good enough for a restaurant to just have delicious food anymore. There has to be great service for a restaurant to stand out from the pack these days. Café Napoli's food did not disappoint, but for the prices I paid, I expected...More

One of my favorite restaurants! Excellent food...you will not be disappointed no matter what you order. Excellent steaks, salmon, scallops, salads, smoked salmon appetizer, chocolate bread pudding, liver and onions, butter lettuce salad....I could go on and on! Just order whatever you like and you'll...More

I am always disappointed when a writer describes in detail a special dish for that evening without giving the price. As was the case at Cafe Napoli the specials are often the most expensive items on the menu. My entree was from the regular menu,...More

I am not sure what hotel you are staying out to know if they provide any type of shuttle service. If you are staying at a hotel located in the immediate Clayton area you can walk to Cafe Napoli. If you are in a surrounding... More

Description
When Tony Pietoso opened the original Cafe Napoli in the '80s, it quickly became a success. So Successful, in fact, that it moved to a bigger location at 7754 Forsyth Blvd. The restaurant continued to flourish with its generous portions of regional Italian specialties. Cafe Napoli has recently undergone a facelift and has added Bar Napoli next door. The swank cocktail lounge has soft lighting and a separate wine room that can accommodate 30 diners. The kitchen is headed by chef Jeff Davis, who has been with the restaurant for several years. Fortunato Pietoso, Tony's brother, has also returned to the kitchen. Tony makes rounds chatting with customers, many of whom appear to be on a first-name basis with him. The sons Ande and Kye split their time between the Bar and Cafe, as they are being groomed to take over the family business. Cafe Napoli is a must visit when in the St. Louis area. Some guests include Tony Bennett, Gloria Estefen, Joe Torre and Arnold Palmer to name a few.
