Just got through eating here today. The pulled pork was like mush, the brisket tasted more like a roast that came out of a crockpot. The sides were not good, except for the macaroni and cheese. Overpriced, too. This is honestly the first poor review I have written since I have been on Trip Advisor. Ate here a few months... More

I have known of Chimneyville since I went to school over 20 years ago in Jackson. I still have to stop in when I am passing through. There is no replacement for good home cooking.

Upon entrance and first scan the place is very neat and clean. The staff is friendly. Everything is homemade recipe. Not crazy about the bbq, however the sides we had were very good. Creamy cheesy Mac n cheese, peppered baked beans, and everything but kitchen sink potato salad, potato casserole and the sweet tea is southern sweet. I would try... More

Chimneyville is by far the best place to eat on High Street in Jackson! You get to pick from several meat and veggie options. The quality of food is very good!

I stopped here for lunch and meet with a few folks. I ordered the combo plate for $12.95. I chose 1/2 smoked chicken and a stuffed bell pepper with sides of black eyed peas and turnip greens. Quick cafeteria style service. Located not far off of I55.

I had lunch here a few times, and the food was always good. Pulled pork is some of the best in the Jackson area. Portions are large, and the dishes are served cafeteria style. Great place for lunch when you are in town.

Wonderful staff and homecooked selections! Food was served café style, buffet. Ample servings, hot and very good. Selections other than just barbecue, good veggies.

Not a bad BBQ joint. Typical atmosphere; ok service although I could barely understand the lady taking my order. Brisket was excellent as was the dinner roll. The mac and cheese was average and the fried broccoli was pure salt. The lemonade did not taste homemade; it tasted like Crystal Light.

Food is great, selections are varied. Just need to be open longer hours and more days. Very casual dining in picnic table style.

I was going to get the ribs but after looking at that luscious pile of pulled pork on the serving buffet ... money. For $10 you get a decent serving of pork, a few sides, bread and a drink. The pork was outstanding and the rest was really good. Good service, friendly faces and not far at all from downtown.... More
