If you can get served, the food is good. This place never has half the staff they need. For a place this busy, it is an insult to the customer. I now avoid it, just due to lack of staff. One bartender and one waitress with two hundred plus people seems typical.

On a road trip from Memphis to New Orleans, my husband wanted to stop at this place. We planned our road trip and arrived on a Wednesday afternoon in Clarksdale. Since we were staying at the Delta Cotton Company Apartments above the club, we decided to have lunch at Ground Zero. I had the fried green tomato sandwich...and it was... More

Went in to buy a Ground Zero t shirt. They had almost none available, certainly not in my size. Drove all the way from Memphis figured I would at least eat some tamales. 20 minutes later still no one had come to wait on me. Only the 2nd time in 50 years I have ever walked out of a restaurant... Stopped for lunch while searching for the ghost of Robert Johnson. Great atmosphere and an amazing fried green tomato blt. I want to come back when there is a band.

Atmospheric bar restaurant offering inexpensive food that is tasty. On (many) evenings it is open with live music. Nb on evenings when music is not scheduled - typically Sunday through Tuesday - the place is closed. However, open for tasty lunches (and recorded music) Mondays and Tuesdays.

You gotta love soulful music, a great atmosphere and food that will knock your socks off! We visited Clarksdale for about a week and we went to this bar/restaurant at least four times. They had amazing music, reasonable drink prices, pool tables and food! If you want to have a great time, this is a great little gem to visit!

Love the music and atmosphere here, always packed so service is slow; the food is secondary and very basic

Morgan Freeman and his business partner (current Mayor of Clarksdale) opened this place to fill a need for music as the Delta Blues Museum is right across the street and people kept asking where they could hear some blues music (as told to me by the Mayor). Big seating area, full bar, music 4 nights per week, old historic building... More
