We came here for a late brunch around 12:30 on a Saturday. Love the decor! Fun diner feel. We were seated right away and enjoyed our server named Drew. He was very friendly and recommended the breakfast sandwich with avacado, egg & bacon. It was huge! We both loved them. The only downside was that I didn’t love the coffee. Very bland. Another nice treat- a server gave us free sticky buns to take since it was closing time. Yum!

I love finding local cafe’s for a good breakfast & this place didn’t disappoint. They had the standard COVID precautions of requiring a mask & had hand sanitizer readily available. I can’t say they were socially distancing with table spacing but I wasn’t bothered, nor were people right on top of each other. We got there relatively early on a Saturday morning but as we were leaving it was starting to get crowded, so make a reservation if you know you’re coming. I came here for the 🌱Vegan menu and the hash didn’t disappoint. It was DELICIOUS 😋!! It had everything: vegan sausage, grilled onions/red & green peppers, hash browns, vegan eggs & vegan cheese. When I come back to Minneapolis, this will be on my “to eat” list.

We had a wonderful brunch at Hen House. The food was delicious, the service was quick, our waitress was sweet, and the restaurant had a neat atmosphere. Be sure to order a caramel roll or one of their flavored cinnamon rolls. Yum!

Hen House has a standard selection of brunch items served without flourish and there is nothing wrong with that. But a plain waffle with whipped cream and about three blueberries and strawberries plus a cup of drip coffee was $20 after tax and tip. Premium pricing for basic food.

Very cool vibe/ambiance, place is huge so was no problem getting seated even though a stream of people coming in. I didn't go at peak time though. I ended up getting oatmeal which was pretty blah! wasn't properly cooked, more like just poured hot water over the oatmeal. Cappuccino was ok. Other dishes were huge and looked good. their buns were yummy looking but WAY too big - I wish they offered mini sizes so you don't have a glycemic crisis eating one.

We were looking for a breakfast/lunch place in the cities and with some research I decided we try Hen House Eatery. Super cute place, loved the decor and the environment. Good vibes for sure! Staff was nice but our waitress wasn't very personable. Nothing to worry about though, people have their days. Food was good! My boyfriend had the kitchen sink omelet, he said it was really good and the Italian sausage was a different but tasty twist. I had the French dip with the au jus. Added sautéed onions and mushrooms, side of sweet potato fries. Delicious! The au jus was more like a gravy consistency (thick) but the flavor was good! Little expensive, a large orange juice was 6.00. But I think it is fresh squeezed so I get it. Overall, good experience and we will be back!

The hen house omelet has chicken sausage, spinach, mushrooms, hash browns, caramelized onions, mozzarella and bechamel sauce served with multi grain toast and homemade berry jam. Loved this breakfast. So fresh and tasty. My daughter 15y had the chick and waffles with the sausage gravy on the side. It was a lot for her to eat but she loved it. That sausage gravy I stole from her because it was soooo good. Plus she didn’t like it. We had a very enjoyable meal. They do not charge the Covid service charge other restaurants are charging downtown.

We decided to try this place out since it had such great reviews. I have to agree! Food was great and so was the service! We went on a Sunday without reservations so would have had a long wait (30+ minutes), but they have open bar seating, so got to sit down within 10 minutes. Ordered our food, it came out hot and was delicious! Friendly waiter/waitresses and fun environment. Recommend this place to friends/family!

Went here two days in a row for breakfast. Was seated quickly, food came out quickly, the do quickly really good. Like walking away quickly after they give your food. I get it's dining in the time of Covid and salt and pepper are not at the table, but you gotta ask before you drop and run. Also, forgetting stuff like butter and jam with the toast, or syrup for the frickin pancakes is just amateurish. Both days I had to go find someone to get these things. Theres a dearth of other little things that just seem like business is good and the culture just thinks they don't need to care anymore.

Stopped in here for a Sunday brunch, place was packed - always a good sign of a great meal to come. Service was quick, food was amazing. Come hungry, they have generous portions, but leave room for the bakery case as you walk out the door. Cakes, cinnamon rolls, assorted baked goods, cookies...just go check it out. Have a beer with your breakfast then a decadent dessert to go. It's amazing.

My wife, my son, and his girlfriend went here for brunch and the food and overall experience were fantastic. They are super busy but the wait was only a few minutes. The staff was very pleasant and professional. The food arrived in about 10 minutes and the portions are "more than enough." I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Reservations recommended for dining in, they did a good job with COVID precautions. The menu covers any need - gluten free, vegan, allergies. And flavor galore in every option!! Service was quick enough, very friendly. The Foxy Benedict was a top 5 meal for me. Truly perfect!

We started with a cinnamon roll for the table (easily shareable for 3 of us) - cinnamony, gooey, yummyness! Get one to share! We enjoyed the Chilaquiles Rojos & the Farmers Wife Omelet, served with homemade jam for the toast. Everything was so fresh, with hefty portions, & absolutely delicious. We all agreed this is probably the best breakfast we've ever had. Staff was very friendly & professional, & the restaurant has an upbeat energy that makes you want stay & sip coffee all day. Definitely visit the Hen House Eatery!

My wife and I went here for breakfast before the start of a conference. The place is quirky, with cute decorations and witty sayings on blackboards throughout the interior. There is a seven foot metal art rooster to greet you outside the front door. We were promptly greeted and seated. I enjoyed a really good omelette and my wife enjoyed a French toast breakfast with eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious, and the coffee very good. Service was just right, checking on us frequently enough but not hovering. Definitely a place to go again next time we are in Minneapolis.

Our hotel was a couple blocks away, so we decided to give the Hen House Eatery a try for breakfast. When we arrived, the line to get inside was very long and, since had to be somewhere else by noon, we almost chose a different option, but were told the wait was only about 20 minutes. That proved to be accurate as the Hen House Eatery has a large amount of seating and they were getting people seated quickly and efficiently. The Hen House has significant breakfast menu with plenty of gluten free options for people like my GF wife, so that was a huge plus. The food came relatively quickly for as busy as they were, and our server was excellent though obviously stretched pretty thin. The food itself was good. Solid, not spectacular. But for a good, hearty breakfast to fuel us through a long day of walking, it did the trick. We'd give it two thumbs up. -The PowerTrippers
