Excellent hearty meals at reasonable prices. Famous carrot cake could not be finished by 4 of us. Great history surrounding the place and the chandelier brought back from Italy. I actually met the father years ago in Sorrento and remember him being very kind to...More

Service was excellent and the wine list was phenomenal. However, every time I go there I am disappointed in the menu. The food is just mediocre. Then I come back a year or two later and everything is the same. The quality is not what...More

One of our fave restaurants anywhere, Bellisio's in Canal Park is always A+, with a small exception this time around. The service is exceptional, ambiance is quaint and well appointed, and prices very reasonable for the quality of the meal. I was disappointed - some...More

We visited Canal Park on Easter Sunday and went to Bellisio's for dinner. The entire time we were there, only four other parties were in the restaurant, so service was excellent! We had Calamari to start, and the duck and mushroom ravioli. Both were excellent!...More

Had an early dinner. Ordered bottle of wine, 3 appetizers and a salad. Wine selected from an extensive list of primarily Italian wines. Pleased with the Chianti I selected. However downhill from there. Olive appetizer was 3 varieties of olives. Waitress described all three but...More

Excellent more formal restaurant. Everything is carefully done. Wine flights if about 10 choices each of whites and reds, about $10 four small pours. Excellent and great fun. Smart wine service. Portions are large. Good for sharing. Attractive inside. Great fun.

Thank you very much for your positive review! Come back soon to try another wine flight. We work hard to keep our Wine List up to date, and rotate new, fun wine to mix into our flight program. We look forward to having you revisit!

The Beef and Strawberry appetizer was tasty, but the salad greens were "on there way out". The Special was Seared Tuna with Grilled Shrimp, done perfectly, but served atop enough spinach, Popeye couldn't eat it all. Try the wine flights, they have the best wine...More

Just read the reviews but haven't eaten there yet. Looking forward to it! Only one question, one review was about the quality of the walleye served. The obviously did not like it. Here's my question. Why would someone go to an authentic Italian restaurant having such glowing reviews for their featured Italian food and order walleye? My wife and I have been to Italy and never once did we order, let alone see, walleye on a menu there! Again, really looking forward to our 52nd anniversary meal at Bellisio's!

What to wear? A dressy dress, or is that too much?

We also were in very casual clothes. If you wanted to make it a dressy, special occasion, you'd be fine. if you'd been exploring Canal Park all day, you could show up in casual clothes as well. Hope this helps!

Description
Classic Italian dinning and Wine Spectator award winner since 1999
Bellisio’s restaurant conjures up images of highly skilled chefs, fine wines, superb service, and fresh Italian food. And while all this is most certainly true, one must not forget that Bellisio’s is above all an experience. An exceptional dining experience, to be precise, but one that takes place in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of the quaint eateries and wine bars of the Italian countryside. And no wonder. The experience is fashioned after the small village of Bellisio, Italy, home to the owner’s ancestry. Imported direct from Italy are the beauty, comfort, romance, and glorious recipes. Specialty dishes include perfectly prepared pasta dishes using the finest imported and local ingredients; fennel roasted rack of pork; homemade risotto dishes; grilled steaks; shrimp; seafood; and a fresh catch feature every day. All served with a world class wine menu to match. Bellisio’s has received Wine Spectator’s prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence” every year since we opened in 1999. It’s a simple, colorful, elegant, and exceptional dining experience.
