Rang the tea room this morning in advance, to book a table and was told they only book one table an hour, but today was very quiet and I wouldn’t need to book anyway. We travelled to the tea room and arrived with 30 mins...to find both the restaurant and the garden full and a queue waiting. When we asked how long before a table became available we were told they didn’t know how long the wait would be. Very disappointed after reading the good reviews and won’t be returning in a hurry.More

The place is very pretty with outside and inside seating, we went for breakfast, the cookers broke so it was delayed but they did tell us, service was friendly and food was nice and big portions.

Lunch at the tea rooms in Southwick on a sunny day. Lovely place with tables outside amongst the flowers and hanging baskets. We had two sandwiches which were thick doorstops. Prawn with Marie rose and ham, cheese and homemade coleslaw both finished with a side...salad and crisps. Really reasonable and tasted ace. It’s a nice setting in a historic village which itself is worth a little walk around afterwards.More

Had a nice sandwich lunch here today sitting outside in the garden. The sandwiches we chose were presented nicely, tasty and really good value for money. The service was very good, prompt and friendly, I’m only sorry I had no room left to try the...cakes which looked lovely.More

I arrived quite late at the Tea Room having read some very good reviews only to realise we had 45 minutes until it closed at 4pm. A notice outside said wait to be seated, which we were, and the young lady said she would be...back to take order. Twenty minutes later I went into the Tea Room and asked if I had misheard the message and needed to go in to order. At this time there were 4 people, all very busy with the icecream and till. I was assured that somebody would be out to take order. Unfortunately another 10 minutes passed so I went back in with only 15 minutes left to closing time. The young lady apologised and followed me out to the garden to take order. While sitting waiting for tea and cake we noticed a man go into the shop (obviously to order) and he then went to a table. Another couple arrived, one went in (again to order) and joined her companion at a table. Our order arrived after the man who went inside and at just before 4pm. While we drank and ate one of the ladies was very busy clearing tables and it was very apparent that we, along with the other people, should really not be there!! The sign saying table service should either be put away or actually adhered to. Very disappointing, I will not be returning to this establishment.More

Visited the Southwick Village Store & Tea Rooms for lunch, and what a very, very pleasant place to visit and eat. The all important staff were extremely friendly. Sat outside as the weather allowed, however there was plenty of seating inside if preferred. A great...choice of food & drink on the menu. Very happy to recommend the Doorstop Bacon sandwich, and the Brie, Bacon, & Cranberry sandwich. Happy B is delighted to recommend the Southwick Village Store & Tea Rooms. Enjoy!More

We attended a family memorial here on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Staff were extremely polite and efficient and very obliging. Afternoon tea with very generous fillings and lovely home made cakes and scones. Spotlessly clean and very well presented. Would certainly visit again when in...the area.More

Was taken today for a birthday treat, what a big disappointment! I chose Cheese Ploughmans and it came with 3 slices bread, a good Ploughman should be a good crust roll/baguette, one of the cheeses was Brie and I ended up with 2 thin slices...which were the end bits with the crust on, cut off what Brie I could salvage! Had a big piece goats cheese, maybe I should have made a goats cheese sandwich! All that was nearly £10! Won’t be returning in a hurry!More

Lovely teashop with beautiful flowers on the table, lots of outside seating. Enjoyed door stop sausage sandwich, which lived up to its name. Cakes looked delicious but tummy was full from sandwich. Reasonably priced too.
