I ate at this establishment about one year ago and it was just average then. Back in town and decided to give it another try. The shrimp cocktail was good, but shrimp were too salty, the cocktail sauce was more like ketchup and the raw horseradish was way too mild. The wedge salad was okay but the balsamic dressing is... We visited 2 restaurants for Restaurant week in Traverse City. By far our best experience was Bourbon 72. We were so impressed with the level of service, ambience, and detail to elegant dining we experienced at Bourbon 72. The moment we walked in and we're greeted and seated our experience began. The little details of the ladies napkins being placed... More

Don't let the fact that this place is located within a casino fool you....it is amazing. We had the most amazing dinner and the prime rib was the best in TC--we are local and we know. They are a little pricey, most items priced individually but every single salad, the bread, the entree and even dessert (as it was my... More

The food was average and the service tried to hard to make up for it. They were at our table so often we couldn't have a conversation. It's a nice atmosphere but the cigarette smoke was very noticeable from the casino.

An altogether different experience after a winter long remodel. Much classier look throughout, with a great deal more light throughout. Absolutely perfect waitstaff with waiter, back waiter, sommelier, host, and all the help you'll never get from most other restaurants in the area. Many, many choices of wines, champagne (2004 Dom P),and sparkling varieties. A 3 tier liquor pricing including many single malts.... More

Enjoyed the pan roasted halibut. Very well prepared and cooked perfectly. Ordered the risotto as an accompaniment and it was "gummy " though tasty. Wait staff very friendly. They did not have the Pappy Van Winkle as advertised but the waiter made a decent recommendation

Outside of Vegas you don't really find good restaurants in casinos. However, Bourbon's 72 hit it out of the park. We stayed at the casino for a night during a golf trip and wanted a good meal. We really wanted to go into Traverse City, but we were all sick of driving and just wanted a good meal. I was... More

I thought we needed a reservation to dine at Bourbons 72, but when we arrived we were the only ones besides one other party in the restaurant. This should have been our first clue. There are so many great places to eat in Traverse City and in our opinion Bourbons 72 misses the mark. Maybe because the restaurant is in... More

Have had dinner here three times before, but glad I came back. There was a major renovation of the place last spring. And Bourbon's 72 finally is starting to look and feel like a fine dining establishment. Excellent menu, reasonably good wine list and an attentive wait staff.
