Stop in every time we head to the UP and we are never disappointed! Great food and service. Going to have some shipped home this time.

Quant little place featuring Pasties, beef chicken or pork. Very friendly waitress. They serve gravy and cole slaw as a combo. I ask if they had rudabaka in and she said no. The pastie tasted fine, but I was told if it did not have...More

Bessie’s Pasties are most like Mom’s. Crust is simply delicious and the filling is rich with meat and vegetables. Definitely don’t miss for the most authentic old fashioned pasties.

If you have a chance to stop in and get a pasty, you won't be disappointed. The meat and veg were finely chopped, the pastry flaky and the gravy very tasty! We took a frozen pasty home for our 89-year-old mother and the woman was...More

I've had pasties before. I don't eat gravy so that puts me at a disadvantage as I think pasties are by default kind of dry no matter who makes them. It was still good but I'm sure gravy makes it way better. The one thing...More

Four days into our UP vacation, after four days of contemplating which place to stop at and try one of those famous pasties for the first time, we finally chose Bessie's! Frankly speaking, we were a little scared of most of the places offering the...More

Neat little place with super friendly front of house staff (even with the screaming kids, broken stapler, and a bunch of 5 / 6 tops walking in) From the oven that looks like the building was built around it, to the big balls of dough...More

If I could move in and live at the restaurant I would the pasties are the best I have ever had. We actually took home 12 in a cooler and have been enjoying them here. A definite place to stop

I've lived in Michigan my whole life but have never had the infamous pasty. So we stopped at Bessie's on a recent trip. There are definitely no bells-and-whistles at this place. But it appeared clean and the service was decent. I don't know what a...More

We bought pasties here to take to family in lower Michigan. We purchased 7 pasties and put them in our cooler. The person who assisted us gave us reheating instructions. The pasties traveled and reheated well. They were delicious. We highly recommend.
