We came with a group of 12 people had a reservation got a great table lots of empty tables inside took a long time for our food though… And I never got offered a second drink but our server was good w our group. We do have one issue with the big hair in our salsa- kind of gross –... More

30 minutes waiting with several empty tables ... Simply not capable to manage the front desk of the restaurant... Will come back, maybe, when the management will change. The menu was not promising in any case so good for us to go to a better place.

Passed by this place in the winter while walking to the festival of lights. Couldn't get over the crowds flocked outside on the patio, in the middle of winter no less. Knew we had to try this place. We were totally pleased with our drinks (beer and margarita), Cuban sandwiches and of course, the mac and cheese. Great atmosphere, service,... More

Had not been here for a couple of years. Restaurant is very family friendly while at the same time nice decor for a casual couple dinner. We were a little put off by the two employees sitting on the steps to the front door smoking. The chicken tortilla soup is excellent. My wife ordered a beef tip appetizer with sauce... More

I was very disappointed that they dropped the Ruben from the menu. I felt they made the best sandwich out there, but our server told us it was the least ordered item. I had the pulled pork which was very good. My friends had the fish taco (very good), the chicken Caesar Salad (very good) another pulled pork and then... More

Penny Black is one of the places my husband and I like to go when biking the paint creek trail. The food is interesting in a very good way. Whatever I have tried has been a fresh and unusual take on a recipe I thought I knew. The portions are just right as in not overly large but enough to... More

Penny Black is a nice, decent place to get a bite to eat and some drinks. The location is right off Downtown Rochester, and there are plenty of lot or street parking options. The interior is very modern, clean, and new looking. Both the food and drink menus have plenty of options. I would say the food is just above... More

Penny Black has done an amazing job in intertwining into downtown Rochester, with owner changes a few years back it was questionable but they have made it and every time the food is amazing the atmosphere spot on no matter if you are there with friends to watch a game or have a romantic evening with your someone special there... Had a few drinks at the bar yesterday afternoon.... Good beer selection.... But had the Chorizo Bean Dip... Hard to do wrong unless it's old and the chips are completely stale... Which were both the case! Canned beans with a few hunks of cheese on top. No chorizo that I could find.... Beans tasted of tin... Chips were totally stale.... More

Nothing really wrong with this place, just nothing really special about it. Servers are friendly and attentive, but food is average. Flatbread was burnt. They used to have a salmon dip that was out of this world but was no longer on menu last week. They do have a good beer selection if you are into that. They have a... More
