Highly recommend getting the pasties here. Was a bit hesitant to try another one after the one we had in Mackinaw City but this blew that one out of the water! We went with the beef pastie and it’s huge packed with meat and veggies and a flaky crust. The gravy is a must, gives it added flavor and moisture. Their homemade coleslaw was very good too and helped break up the heaviness of the pastie. The also have chicken, veggie, and fruit pasties. May have to try one of those next time. Nice outdoor seating area. Bonus points for the Bigfoot statue out front for some fun photo ops.

Stopped by on our way out of Munising after a Pictured Rocks cruise. Husband and I had traditional beef pasties with gravy and the kids (13 & 11) had chicken with gravy. DELICIOUS!! The crust is tender and flaky and the filling is fantastic. We look forward to a future visit! Highly recommend!! We appreciated the generous amount of outdoor seating and the social distancing inside the store.

When in Rome always try to get pasties. Muldoon’s offers beef, chicken, vegetable and desert pasties. I also appreciate that they serve them hot, cold or frozen. We purchased a frozen beef and chicken and had a hot apple for the road. I always have beef gravy with the pasties otherwise they can be a little dry. All of them were excellent and very filling. Muldoon’s did have a line but that is alway a good sign of a quality business. Small lot and street parking. Pricy gift shop. Outdoor seating. I definitely would return.

I grew up on pasties made by my grandmother and mother- Our families are from Sweden and Norway and had other relatives that settled in the U.P I was born in Alpena and had constant exposure to the pasty. We moved to the Detroit area when I was a kid and always talked to friends about the great flavors in a pasty. I made them for my kids using gram’s recipe and they always loved them. One of my sons went to your store in August of this year and bought some beef pasties to bring back home. He gave me one and I thought I went to heaven, it tasted just like the traditional pasties my mother and grandmother made. Absolutely delicious.

Pasties were delicious! We stopped right around noon on a weekday and the place was HOPPING. Constant stream of people. You order inside, where they have all the pasties ready to go, and drinks available in a refrigerator case, and take your food outside to eat on paper plates. We tried chicken & beef and enjoyed both. All of my kids ate them, which is a minor miracle! I liked the gravy option, too. They are huge and you don't really need a whole one for every person. My favorite, though, were the apple pasties! I imagine any dessert version would be fantastic. Yum!!

Trip Advisor is my go to for "Things to do and Restaurants" when we enter a new area. First time in the UP and I came across info about Pasties. We visited one day after Waterfall exploring/hiking and were very pleased with our meal. The Pasties are nice sized and come in a beef, chicken or vegetable option. We purchased the meal which comes with gravy for both the chicken and the beef, Cole slaw and a drink. The chicken was very good and flavor was excellent. Reminded me of my favorite Chicken Pot Pie. My husband enjoyed the beef and used gravy on it, rather than the local recommend of ketchup (hates ketchup). Muldoon's is a quaint and no frills operation. You do get a plate and plastic fork/knife for enjoying your meal. Staff is super friendly and prices are reasonable. Totally recommend for a great meal when up in the UP!

Great place to experience the food of the UP...the pastie. It's a pastry that miners carried in their lunch to eat when down below or away from home. Pastry filled with potatoes, veggies, meat and delectable. Excellent food and courteous staff.

We had to try pasties while in the U P. This was a perfect stop for lunch and we went with the traditional beef pasty. Very delicious and a good sized portion. They are baked fresh daily so no time is wasted standing around waiting for your food. I liked mine with ketchup and also the beef gravy. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stopped in for a pasty on July 9th. It’s a small place but very clean. The pasties are large and warm. However, we both ordered a chicken pasty and it was mostly potato with very little chicken which made it quite bland. We were disappointed. We are going back to Munising in September and hope to find better pasties. The Jacks Market in Manistique has some very good pasties. We will probably pick some up there before going to Munising.

Stopped in to pick up pasties on the way home. Bought 10 frozen and got the 11th one free and hot for the drive. Huge good comfort food...up north tradition. Mine was beef and extremely filling on a cooler morning. Social distancing measures are in place - wear a mask and get your UP jams jelly honey and syrup to go!

My friend and I had a nice meal at Muldoon's this week, our first time in the UP and our first time trying pasties. The woman working here was fun and funny, and even explained some of the local attitudes around eating pasties with ketchup or with gravy (we tried each). They have a nice variety on the menu, including a vegetarian option - not the case for the other pasty restaurant we tried - and we enjoyed the experience very much.

We were looking for a taste of the U.P. and were not disappointed. An unpretentious building on the outside, the Sunday lunch staff inside were busily filling takeout orders. The beef pasties were delicious; we were grateful for covered picnic tables to keep the sprinkles at bay.

Stopped in while in town for a cruise. I grew up in Hibbing, MN and grew up on pasties. I was pretty excited since I haven't had a pasty in many years. We bought quite a few for everyone in the family. Honestly, none of us were impressed. They all had so much potato in them that we couldn't find or taste the meat. Very disappointed. Considering all of their other rave reviews, maybe we just got a bad batch.

I'm not sure if there are two locations in Munising, or if they moved. The address we stopped at was 1246 M-28, which matches their web site. People in lower Michigan said we had to try Muldoon's pasties, and on our last night in Munising we stopped for an early dinner. The gift shop is cute and has plenty of items to remember your trip or for gifts, including fudge. My wife had a vegetarian pastie, and I went with beef and gravy. We ate them outside at a table on their porch/patio. Mine was ok, but frankly needed some spicing up - pretty bland. My wife didn't finish hers and had no interest in doing so the next day for lunch, so I added some seasoning and ate it. It was not very good The fudge we bought however was absolutely fantastic. Get your picture taken with the sasquatch out front. They did let our little dog in while we browsed and ordered.

These pies were pretty great. If I hadn't grown up on copper harbor pasties from my mom (and she uses nice chunks of tenderloin) I wouldn't know there was better. Flaky crust, perfect potatoes, and lots of beef (but not chunky tenderloin;).
