Fantastic meal! Everything from the host/hostess to the server and bartender. We got the special which was a steak and although pricey due to beef prices it was perfectly prepared and presentation was outstanding. They found out it was a special occasion for us and went way above and beyond to make it a perfect experience. If you plan to stay in Munising spend the extra dollars and eat here and stay at Roam Inn!

My husband & I stayed for the night at Roam Inn & really enjoyed Tracy’s restaurant inside the hotel. The convenience of having dinner down the stairs from our room after a long drive made it even better. We were pleasantly surprised with how the ambiance of the hotel main lobby changed into a quaint little trendy dining experience in the evening. There’s a really cute little bar well stocked with just a few bar stools. Our waitress was so sweet (she had a southern accent(wish I remembered her name!)& she was very attentive. She highly recommended the Brussels sprouts appetizer which we enjoyed very much! I had the Roam Inn bowl with Quinoa-so good! My husband also enjoyed his fettuccine Alfredo & we also had a fresh basket of bread. The restaurant seemed very popular. We saw a lot of people come & go for cocktails and/or food during our stay. Great choice if you’re in the area!

This lovely little restaurant serves small plates that can either act as an appetizer before one of their entrees, or you can order multiple small plates to share as your meal (like tapas). Since we wanted to try a little of everything, we ordered 4 small plates (and our waitress suggested 2-3 small plates per person if that would be our meal). Everything was seriously delicious. We particularly enjoyed the brussel sprouts, and their custom cocktails were really good, too. Both the service and the food was superb. This place may be a lot more expensive than the other restaurants in the area, but it is leaps and bounds better and is worth every penny!

We were a table of 11 for two consecutive nights and all 22 meals were quite honestly the worst food I’ve ever seen served. The menu was appealing but the plated product was not appetizing. My first entree was halibut and it was overcooked by maybe an hour, atop undercooked crunchy rice. The next night I ordered prime rib because I guessed they couldn’t make it poorly - it seemed like a vacuum packed slice of beef warmed in the microwave, grey in color and desperately overcooked. I’m sure the Inn is working hard to design, prepare and serve fine cuisine, but folks at our table were vicariously embarrassed by their efforts. Sorry for the bad review, but someone has to speak the truth!

The chowder was the best thing ordered by our group, delicious and a large size. The osso buco pork shank was over cooked/dry, not worth the $28. The walleye was good. The service was slow and she only checked back with us once after the meal was delivered. Do not go there without a reservation. They do prefer drop ins, even if you are a hotel guest.

My dad took me on a trip to the U.P. for my 18th birthday/high school graduation gift. We stayed at the Roam Inn, which was a very cool, upscale hotel located in the heart of Munising. After hearing good things about Tracey’s Restaurant, located at the Inn, we had to try it for ourselves. Well, let me say this…we were not disappointed! The service, décor and food were all top notch. I ordered the tenderloin special, which sounding amazing. I am extremely picky when it comes to how I like my steak prepared. I like it medium rare…if it is over-cooked, it just ruins my dining experience. Our server, Casey, was awesome. She personally spoke with the chef to relay my preferences, since I made it clear that I am not easy to please. She came back to our table and told us that the chef took it as a personal challenge to prepare my steak to my exact likings. Fast forward to the main event….when I cut into the tenderloin and took my first bite, I was blown away! It was perfect! Not only was it the best steak I have ever been served…I will go as far to say that it was the best meal I ever had! I was so excited, that the food & beverage manager, Chris, heard me telling my dad how awesome my dinner was. He personally came over to our table to thank us for dining with them. We made reservations for the next night as well. Thanks Roam Inn & Tracey’s for making my trip one that I will never forget!

This higher end restaurant is worth a visit during your stay in the Munising area! Very attentive waitstaff and beautiful ambiance combine with great food to give you an evening you won’t forget! We landed there last night to celebrate my birthday, as well as my husband’s upcoming birthday, but were made late for our reservation due to nasty traffic and snow. They moved our reservation and greeted us immediately asking if if we had arrived safely. They proceeded to take us to a secluded table with a romantic view so that we could relax together. Their recommendations were spot on and resulted in a memorable meal. Thank you so very much for starting our weekend getaway on such a high note!

My wife and I were traveling from a day at Mackinaw Island and stopped for gas in Munising. Hungry, we checked for a restaurant and found Tracy’s. Though Open Table said they were booked, we called and they told us they could make a table for us. With that we were treated to a 5 star meal. My wife had the Waygu filet which was outstanding; I had a couple of small plates of whitefish with a potato chip crust and an Ahi tuni preparation, both delicious. The brussle sprout appetizer was also scrumptious. My wife had suggested we be adventurous and try to something new, and in Tracy’s we were not disappointed!!

Definitely make reservations for this restaurant ahead of time. We called in the morning and they either had early like 4pm or late like 930pm. The food was definitely the best and most romantic atmosphere in town. I had the chicken with crab meat and a lobster sauce and my husband had the baby back ribs. We really enjoyed it. Top off the dinner with a creme brûlée for dessert, it was amazing. Ambiance was lovely and the waiter was attentive and very nice. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a nice sit down dinner with gourmet food!

I wish I could rate Tracey’s excellent, but unfortunately, our experience was sadly BAD because of the service. I really hope it was just an off night for them. Five minutes after we were seated on time (made reservation), 2 waitstaff walked by. Neither acknowledged us, but ok. Another 5 minutes go by, and one of them walked by again, and still no acknowledgement. TEN minutes go by, and a table nearby was getting cleaned as the couple finished and left while my throat started to dry up as NO water was offered. Why? Because we were being IGNORED. I was starting to think is it because I’m Asian? But, my husband is Caucasian so it can’t be that, can it?
At this point I went to the bar and asked for water. A bald guy who I assumed was the manager asked why. I said we’ve been there 20 minutes, and not one person has acknowledged us even the table nearby made a comment.
He said he was going to send someone right away, and apologized. I told him both my husband and I are celebrating our birthdays, and that having to wait LONG for our dinner wasn’t ideal. The hostess also came by and apologized. Two minutes later, our waitress came by. She had NO clue what was going on like our table was not assigned to her until then, so I’m going to assume she got pulled from the back to wait on us. I am going to blame this one on the management for lack of communication.
Finally, we got to order - a bottle of Malbec (great for $35!!!), Brussels sprouts for appetizer ($17 good), my husband’s skirt steak entree ($44 ok) and my chicken entree believe it or not was the best deal ($39). It was so good the next table asked how it was, and he decided to order it.
We are vacationing in Michigan, and doubt we will be back in Munising (GORGEOUS btw) anytime soon, but I’m sorry to say I can’t recommend Tracey’s. For the $ spent, we should’ve waited until we got to Traverse City where there are at least a dozen restaurants that have both great food AND service.
Oh, and NO. We were NOT offered dessert to celebrate our birthdays nor an after dinner drink or something to compensate for a BAD service. For those who have been to other “nicer” restaurants, you get the idea. Clueless.
I wasn’t going to give them another dollar so went to DQ and got milkshake, yum!😀

We went out to the Upper Peninsula from Tacoma, Washington in July 2021. We stayed at the Roam Inn (which I highly recommend) and ate at Tracey's mostly because it was the easiest thing to do. Let me just say that everything we ordered was divine, and the creme brulee was better than the one I tried in Paris. As for service, the waitresses could be trained better on how to serve in a high-end restaurant. I felt like we were being served by a diner waitress. I'm not saying we got bad service. We didn't. And we liked our waitress as a person. It's just that the chef at Tracey's is top shelf, so the waitstaff should probably be top shelf, too. Training is all that's needed. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and if we are ever in Munising again, we will definitely eat there again.

I checked online and there was no availability, but called and asked for a 4:30, but was told to come at 4pm. We arrived and there was only one table occupied, but we were seated in the bar at a high table. I asked to be seated at a regular table, and she had to check, then told me the large table (we were 2) might be ok since she had it booked for 7:30pm (really, it was 4 pm!). The people eating finished their meal and then we were the only ones in the place the entire time, which was a while. Service was very slow and the food wait was even longer. It seemed like there was only one person in the kitchen and that they could cook only one meal at a time. The menu was strange, trying to be gourmet. I order the hamburger, which was slightly overcooked and smaller than the bun, and came with a sauce on the bun called cherry ketchup - it didn't make it to my taste and I didn't eat the bun. My husband order the fettuccini. The sauce was thick and gloppy, the pasta thick, and the chicken was burnt.
We had hoped for a nice formal meal - it is the only restaurant in town that is not burgers or pizza, but it didn't make it. The prices were that of a good formal restaurant, just not the food or service.

Dined again at Tracy’s, for a birthday feast with a friend and my wife, it was disappointing in so many ways.
The service was fine this time, however our meals were poor at best.
My wife’s fillet was not cooked properly, was prepared medium done, where we had specified medium rare. My Surf and Turf fillet was also overdone and the shrimp while they were quite meaty, were slightly overdone, and the advertised Scampi sauce lacked any hint of garlic. The accompanying potatoes for each of us were extremely salty, and the asparagus spears, unevenly cooked, and were also overly seasoned.
I mentioned to our server that the steaks were overdone, she said she would mention it to the chef. No offer to recook or comp any of the meal was made.
On a bright side, the CremeBrule was delicious. Our other desert portion, a chocolate cake was just too dense and over the top with chocolate to full enjoy.
After reading so many recent good reviews on Tracy’s we returned, hopeful they had righted the proverbial ship. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We are unlikely to make a third attempt.

We have done a lot of traveling and eating in high end restaurants and without questions the 6 person meal and experience we had at this place was world class!! One of the best meals we have ever had! I cannot believe it is in the UP of Michigan. It could thrive in NYC or LA. So worth the trip!

We went to Tracey's on a recent stay in Munising. We had our dog with us, so we had to be seated on the patio, which was very comfortable, albeit a bit nippy in the 3rd week in September. Our server brought some treats for her in addition to being very helpful and attentive throughout our meal. The server suggested 2-3 of their small portions per person, and we went with two each and even then had some leftovers for the next day. The food was delicious. My wife had some local wine and I had a couple of MI beers. I thought the beer selection was a little weak.
The food is a bit on the pricey side, but for us it was fine as we dined at less expensive places the other two nights in town.
