A place that I have not been to for many years and it has not changed. Still has the same old wood booths and various artifacts from bygone days. The chicken wrap and club sandwiches were very tasty.

Home style cooking, simple lunch menu all crafted by the onsite owner. Sandwiches were tasty and very reasonably priced. Decor is high back dark stained oak booths, with a Tiffany style sconces, unusual tall curved swooping plastered ceiling with an oak balcony back drop. Worth a stop to keep history alive and small family business serving for another 100 years.
Stopped the first day for ice cream, and ended up coming back for breakfast the next morning. Great place to go if looking for a home cooked breakfast. Not a chocolate shop anymore though.
i almost always went there to have a few beers and the food was excellent too. friendly clientel, and wait staff. some gambling too. a must visit'
The outside is so unassuming but once you walk through the doors you walk back in time. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is downright YUMMY. This is a MUST if you are in the Lake Linden, Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, Laurium, Baraga, L'Anse and all the communities in the area. It is worth the drive if you are in... More
While out driving we accidentally took this route north. So it must have been our fate to discover this incredible place while looking for a place to have a good cup of coffee. The sign says "chocolate shoppe", and we wondered if they had coffee. We parked and were we ever surprised. Not only coffee but a full menu of... More
A neat old time mom and pop drugstore now a restaurant. we have been trying all the breakfast places, most I would not go back to. Our breakfast's were awesome. perfectly cooked, great portions. non greasy american taters. a nice tasting sausage pattie, not your usual run of the mill meat. cannot say enough good things about this place. will... My family went out for Sunday brunch. We couldn't decide on what to have so we tried nearly all the breakfast items. Their pancakes are the best we ever had!!! The French toast was amazing. I enjoyed my large omelette. Our bacon was perfectly cooked. The kids absolutely LOVED their monkey pancakes. They were adorable! We also tried the French... More
It has been years since we were able to stop here, and those years have not been kind. The shop is an interesting artifact of a more prosperous time for the UP, but the menu is now overpriced, the tables sticky, bathroom dirty, food ordinary...in short, not worth a stop. It is too bad!
I've had breakfast here a number of times and it has always been so good! A bonus is the amazing relics of history and the friendly service. If you're in the Keweenaw, eat here! Please note they don't accept credit cards, so carry cash. This is common throughout the Keweenaw Peninsula.
