Ah, the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. This is the place that put Frankenmuth on the map to us non-Michigan'ers! There's nothing like the wonderful authentic German dinner served family style! Wear stretchy pants and come hungry! You'll be served chicken noodle soup, pasta salad, coleslaw, cranberry salad, cucumber salad, fresh breads, and that's all before the main meal! We enjoy the... First time in 37 years of living in Michigan for eating the Famous Frankenmuth Chicken. Great restaurant with amazing service. Clean and felt like old world charm in the middle of Michigan. Tried a little bit of everything including Chicken and Schnitzel and all was amazing. Highly reccomend to go all the way to the basement and visit the bakery... More

This is a fun place to visit but we were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The meat entries, including the famous fried chicken and schnitzel were dry and unremarkable. The cheese puffs were tasty but the other side dishes were below average.

We had a fun afternoon enjoying German fare and beer at the Bavarian Inn. It is definitely a touristy stop - there were a lot of people there, including guided tour groups. The best meal at our table was hands down the chicken pot pie -- the biscuits even came out in the shape of the state of Michigan!

Wheather it's the traditional chicken dinner or the German favorites on the menus u can't make a wrong choice. I personally think the family style dinner is overrated and like to order off menu.

If going to Frankenmuth you MUST eat at the Bavaria Inn Restaurant. We had the family style chicken dinner and we added Jager Schnitzel for only a couple dollars more. You get so much delicious food if you leave hungry it is your fault. Friendly, efficient servers and ours was very knowledgeable about all the menu items. Restaurant was very... More

The Bavarian Inn competes with Zehnder's (across the street) for the title of best fried chicken. I've been to both places and the chicken is pretty similar. It's not southern-fired. It's not broasted. It's good but not great. However, there are other - German - dishes on the menu to make it worth your while to stop here for a... More

We made a reservation and it got us right in. Love that! It is such a cute place with german looking decor and the costumes that the employees wear are just fun for the eyes. The food is always great. They start you off with bread. Their fruit bread is a treat. This is the only place I'll eat chicken... More

Enjoyed a unique dining experience at the bavarian Inn. The building is designed and decorated in Bavarian style and the staff wears the traditional Bavarian Clothing. We made a reservation online for the main dining room since the last time we were here we could not get into the main dining room and ate at the very nice bar area... More
