Review
About
Oma's Restaurant is a quaint Bavarian theme Restaurant serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Oma's (Meaning Grandma's) is located within the Bavarian Inn Lodge and hosts locals and day trip visitors as well as hotel guests. It is a "best kept" secret for having short or no waits at lunch time in Frankenmuth when other restaurants are lined out the door. American and German fare are served and pizza is made from scratch to your liking! Enjoy some of the most FUN servers in the region with great food.

Quaint restaurant near Bronner’s and inside the Bavarian Inn Lodge. The menu has a good variety to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Our group ordered a mix of the German and American dishes - including a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the little. They were all good dishes though each could have been a bit better. The Brisket Melt was really good, though a bit dry. The holiday cocktails were fun and delicious. We tried the chocolate cherry cocktail - which I didn’t see on the menu, but our server suggested it - and it was yummy.

While not a gigantic menu, Oma's gives a nice variety of German, American, and even pizza. You can also get Frankemuth Chicken here, if you want a lower price point than the family-style restaurants on Main Street. DO NOT MISS THE BIG TWIST! This gigantic soft pretzel served our family of 5, and came fresh-baked with cheddar-ale soup for dipping. It might be the best pretzel we've ever tasted. My wife had some of the best bratwurst I've ever tried, and the Jaeger Schnitzel was packed with flavor. Good portions, and a small, but pleasant atmosphere.

Good Morning andybl3347ZB
Thank you for your recent visit to Oma's at the Bavarian Inn Lodge for your family's dining needs. It was great to see that you had a 5 out of 5 visit. We have done well with our pizza's through the years and with our specialty pizza's such as the Reuben and the Frankenmuth pizza's. Thank you for mentioning that. Isn't that Big Pretzel fun to share. The Cheddar Ale Soup has been a great compliment to dunk your pieces of pretzel in to. Thank you again for the most wonderful compliments and we hope to see you and your family again.
Sincerely

My daughter and I were very happy with our choice to come to Oma’s even though we weren’t hotel guests! Our server, Anjel A. was so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing, while the food was fantastic! Our lunch favorites were the German Potato Cheese Dumplings (exactly as advertised, crispy on the outside, hot and gooey on the inside!), cheddar ale soup, and the Mac and Cheese. Just the right choices for spoiling ourselves on our too infrequent girls’ shopping trip on a chilly, but beautiful, fall day!

Not the best breakfast. The pancakes were not fluffy but thin and tough. The coffee was bland and besides packaged creamer, there was little to add flavor. My wife had bacon with her breakfast that was over crisp. We originally were going to try the pumpkin pancakes but they were over priced and did not come with any sausage, Even the waitress acknowledged that the pancakes were not the best.

I hate giving a review with 1 star, but my meal was not good. I ordered the falafel and got a huge pita with 4 thin slices of something with a bit of tzatziki sauce and a piece or two of lettuce. The fries were OK. Yes I could have asked the server for something else, but being the token vegetarian of my group of 4, nothing else appealed to me. My hubbie had the chicken with schnitzel combo. He ate it but definitely has had better. Try anywhere else.

We've been here at least 40 times with groups of 4 to 12 and this is definitely the last time. Walked up to the receptionist who was on the phone for over 5 minutes finally ending her call with love you so obviously not business. Finally seated for a quick lunch snack of chicken noodle soup that was two noodles and a lot of warm water. The other soup was a cold cheese something that was also watery and tasteless. Ordered 8 rolls for $9 that were uncooked doughballs. Another party had macaroni for $16 which would feed a small child. Never saw the waitress for drink refills or a warm up of the soup so paid and left and went to a more capable place. Really sad to see what was once great into a future failure

We go to frankenmuth a lot and go to Omas a lot but will totally avoid for lunch and dinner in the future. Breakfast is always good but on three occasions this last trip had really poor experiences at lunch and dinner. The worst was a family meal where two kids didn't get their meals until everyone was finished with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich literally taking over half an hour. Very non existent service with half a teaspoon only of gravy on the mashed potato and absolutely no sauce on a dried out pork chop and dried out chicken. Others in the party were also unfilled and we went elsewhere to get more food. We eat little normally but this really disappointed. If management can provide good breakfast and an expensive farce for other meals there is needed work

We went to Oma's last night since we were staying at the lodge. Two adults, two kids. We ordered pretzel bites, two pork schnitzel dinners and two kid's grilled cheese. Kid's food was ok. Kraft singles, not even real cheese, even though the bread was good. The pretzel bites were laughable as an appetizer. It was $6.95, and you literally get 7 one-inch pretzel bites that you can buy by the dozen in a tub at Kroger. Reheated for a buck apiece. So stupid. Pork schnitzel was ok. Very bland, no flavor. Covered in a terrible "hunter's sauce...mushrooms and tomatoes" most jagerschnitzel is in a cream mushroom sauce. We ate it, but it wasn't great. Stomach hurt about an hour later. Definitely NOT worth a $75 dinner. Super disappointed. Greed on display here. They only want your money, and they want to trick you into thinking they're a top tier resort. They aren't. Go elsewhere.

We had breakfast. Place was crowded, but while we waited, we sipped on coffee available in the hotel lobby. The food was adequate, except for the fried cheese and potato dumplings. They were outstanding. My link sausages were burnt, and the fried eggs were watery. The stollen toast was good, too. Service was okay. Prices were high.

This restaurant is very mediocre. Restaurant appeared half empty but had to wait 20 min for a table so clearly staffing issues. Waitress tried but was very slow service and got part of order wrong. Soup was pretty good but the famous chicken is really subpar-could get better at fast food restaurant. Based on our experience I can’t recommmend

While we were in Frankenmuth, we had supper here. The restaurant is part of the Bavarian Lodge outside of downtown. I had the chicken dinner which wasn't that good. The breading on the chicken had very little flavor and the chicken was very dry. My husband had the chicken finger plate (his chicken was dry also). This entree was supposed to come with honey dijon mustard dip. He got spicy mustard dip which was what the restaurant served as honey mustard. Finally, the waitress added some honey to their mustard and finally got it to taste like a honey mustard dip.

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. We appreciate you taking the time to post a review and hope that you also took the time to share your comments with management while you were dining so that they could have made corrections for you. The Frankenmuth Chicken process has lots of seasoning in the breading and also after being cooked. There is more seasoning on the tables that can also be applied if you so choose. I apologize that you felt everything was dry and that you did not like the sauce that we serve. Thank you for sharing that our Server was able to fix it to your liking.
Sincerely

The Belgian waffle was something out of your home waffle maker. Not the large, thick Belgian waffle you get in other restaurants. Very disappointing.
The pancakes, on the other hand, were 3 large, well cooked griddle pancakes.
The omelets were decent.
Service was friendly and prompt.
The decor was pleasing to the eye

The appetizers combo came out with everything cold and terrible taste . Was unable to eat. The dinner wasn’t very good either. When the waitress asked for my honest opinion, I told her it was terrible. She said I’ll be back with your check. Didn’t offer to take anything off the bill or even say sorry. The beer was flat also. Will never go back.

We ate here around 1:00 pm so it was the breakfast/lunch menus. Each menu had a good variety of items you could choose from.
My wife had baked spaghetti. She stated it was okay, but not great. I chose pancakes, bacon and eggs. Pancakes were tough to cut and chewy. All portions were large. Server was helpful and friendly.
Not sure we would eat here again.

I never learn. After every year getting worse this three day trip was a further disappointment. Potato pancakes were no better than a McDonalds hash brown with onion salt and a thimble of applesauce with almost raw bacon. Running late so didn't send it back. The rest of the family ate almost none of theirs and we went to Birch run for breakfast the next day. Probably the last attempt after countless three day getaways for grandkids. Looking for another water park for them
