First, I want to say that the waitress was excellent and handled my issue with grace and apologies. the place seemed clean and had a nice atmosphere. However, no one, including staff, as this restaurant had masks on--and that bothered me from the get go. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and was enjoying it...until I noticed paper sticking out of the second half. When the cook prepared the meat, it seems he/she did not remove all the paper between slices and I ended up with some in my sandwich. The waitress was properly horrified and immediately took it off my bill, which was appropriate and appreciated. Still, this really should not have happened at all, and I am not at all sure I did not eat some of the paper in the first half of the sandwich.

I need to respond to the comment below. After the manager calmly explained to him we do not have what he ordered and we did it the cheapest way possible... you came in, and specifically said he “overreacts and can be dramatic!” This is a false and hurtful claim by you! We apologize for the misunderstanding but NOBODY.... was treated unfairly! We actually had a waitress from another establishment say our manager handle it much better than she would have! Enjoy your day

From start to finish this was your typical breakfast diner. It was cozy, comfortable, service was fast and super friendly. We had zero issues and all enjoyed our breakfast before heading back home. I had the eggs Benedict, which did not disappoint. My daughter had the waffle topped with strawberries and my son went with lunch and got a burger & fries. Everything was cooked perfect and was flavorful. This beat my favorite breakfast joint back home! Our waitress was attentive and always knew what we needed! I think her tip was about the same price as our total bill! Much deserved! I hope we made her day like she made ours! Next trip to Michigan, I will definitely be stopping in for breakfast again!

The worst experience I have ever had before 9am. The staff at this establishment insulted, ganged up on, and verbally attacked my significant other because he "couldn't understand" the "black and white" of being charged an extra 6$ for getting a full waffle rather than a half waffle. Ridiculous. Will never return here and will inform my contacts of this horrible establishment. Food was also cold And bland when we received it. Do not waste your time or money coming here. Head to Swedish Pantry or Delona to get better food and be treated respectfully.

Food is typical diner fare but some of it is not good. The pancakes are terrible and dry, also they serve the fake maple syrup. The hash browns are at once too crispy and soggy in the middle (inedible). The service is also slow and forget about refills.

We were up Escanaba way for breakfast and decided to go to Drifters. After all, we've been there for lunch and found the food as well as the prices good. That was LUNCH. Breakfast, on the other hand was, to say the least, not so good. I ordered the farmers type omelet (not positive what their name for it is), which was supposed to be filled with the following: ham, hashbrowns, cheese, mushrooms and green peppers. It came with toast and a side of hashbrowns. When I began to eat it I noticed there was a lot of hashbrowns inside- I MEAN A LOT! Cheese and ham were almost nonexistent, green peppers and mushrooms were completely missing, but it sure had enough hashbrowns. My better half had what I assume was eggs benedict. Whatever it was, it was cold and the eggs were almost half cooked. Neither of us ate our breakfasts and opted to go elsewhere instead. Mine was at least cooked, but the overwhelming amount of potatoes and almost complete lack of anything else just made the dish unacceptable. Maybe the cook just screwed up, or someone had a bad morning- whatever the case, paying customers deserve better.

This was our last stop before heading home. The breakfast was excellent. You won't go away hungry. My wife said the French toast was the best she's had in years, I had biscuits and gravy with eggs, and we had some of the best sausage links. The staff was great too.

Ordered breakfast and the hashbrowns were served burnt and the omlelets maybe had a drop of cheese in them. We complained to the waitress and nothing was done about it. We paid full price for the food that we couldn't even eat.

We stopped in for early dinner. Service was slow, but could have been shift change. The table was clean, but booth seats had crumbs. Flat entrance and parking, but doors did not have handicap assistance operation system. Menu is varied. Breakfast available all day. Husband had the meatloaf dinner: stuffing, meatloaf, potatoes, bread and gravy. He said it was good. Served temperature hot. I had a chicken salad with vegetables - veggies were fresh and cold, chicken was hot. Serving size I thought was a little small for the price. We did not use the restrooms.

Had a dried out overcooked h piece of meat that they claim is a 1/3 lb angus burger. No way. Eggs were overcooked and they can’t tell sour dough from white. And the morning rush was over

Got here early on a Saturday morning. Sat right down. Server was attentive and nice. I ordered an Egg and Cheese Croissant w/ham and hash browns. Came out without cheese. Not a deal killer. Informed the girl. She appologized and went back to tell the cook. French Toast and Hash Browns were good along with the Two Crepes and Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. Coffee was really good. They were good with the fillups. By the time we left, people were waiting.

Great breakfast place. The bacon was a nice thick cut. Eggs were cooked as ordered; sunnyside up and over easy. The bread was a good quality. We has sour dough and whole wheat toast. The only gripe was that the vegetables in the breakfast skillet were for asian stir fry. Pea pods, water chestnuts and carrots. Service was fast and friendly.

Ate there twice while in Escanaba, once for dinner and once for breakfast. The shrimp dinner was good, the breakfast was very good. Service was excellent - they have enough wait staff, unlike many other restaurants in the summer of '21.

My son & I stopped in to Drifters while spending the night in Escanaba. The manager at our hotel recommended we come here for a great Omelet. Breakfast is served anytime here. Our Omelets were absolutely perfect. I built my own with Sausage, Mushrooms, Spinach, Onions & Swiss Cheese. My son had the Avocado, with Spinach, Tomatoes, Mushrooms & Mozzarella Cheese. The Hash Browns were excellent, as well as the Rye toast & the Gluten Free Multigrain bread. Our server was Jenna, who took careof oureveryneed. .She was very polite, professional & just a Sweetie!! Highly recommend Drifters for a wonderful breakfast!!
