I will NEVER visit Mario's again! Basically, this restaurant pulled the old "Bait and Switch" routine to lure unsuspecting patrons in for a fictitious $14.99 lobster special. Our party of four (senior ladies) had a 7 pm reservation for the advertised lobster special. After placing our dining selection, our waitress came back to inform us that the lobster special was... My partner and I stopped here for dinner after seeing a show at the Fisher Theater. Everything was superb, from being seated quickly to excellent serving staff. The meal was inclusive, starting with a fresh antipasto plate and a basket of breadsticks and fresh Italian bread. This was followed by a fresh, crispy salad, then a bowl of soup, both... More

Mario's advertise $23.95. Main Lobster & Prime Rib with shuttle service to the game We made our reservation for 11am. We were escorted to our table, which was nice. Surprised to find out it was a buffet. It was terrible. Such a long line. Not enough food and the food was cold. On the buffet table many things were empty... More

Neither of us had been to Mario's but were eager to try a new place, especially one that had such an established presence in Detroit. We arrived around 5:30 and the place was packed -- usually a good sign. We had Manhattans at the bar as we waited for our table. We expected them served up but instead, got $13... More

First time here. I took my parents before a show at the DSO. Excellent food, service, and taking the free shuttle to the door at the DSO proved to be an great idea for my aging parents. The food portions and extras such as the relish tray were awesome. I highly recommend, ask for Hector, he was terrific!

I've been going to Mario's for years. The ambiance and food is still wonderful. Nabil, our waiter, who we requested, did his usual exceptional job. Five stars again. Veal & beef are top notch. Our cousins joined us, and we'll all be back.

The food here never disappoints and there is always way too much to eat - this is a fun old school restaurant where they still do things the right way

First and last time at this restaurant. Went with a party of 25 on Thursday night for dinner. Two received something other than what they ordered and one received the wrong thing twice. I did not receive my dinner until all others were finished and their plates were being picked up. Sides and some of the main dishes were cold.... More

I made a reservation for 3 people for 5 pm yesterday, requesting to be near the fireplace because they don't turn the heat up. I arrived promptly at 5 pm, gave my name, the hostess said "Table for seven?" NO, I distinctly made it for 3 people. I asked again about the fireplace seating. I was told they would take... More

My wife and I purchased the theater package (dinner, transportation, tickets) to see the Thursday evening performance of Phantom of the Opera at the Opera House in Detroit. My upfront costs were $243.50 of which $178.00 were the face value of main floor seating. Since the math didn't make sense that you got a 5-course meal in a fine dinning... More
