Not quite the Detroit Chop Houses of old but a fine restaurant. Wait staff was patient with one guest arriving late and the table lingering. Steak and tuna were excellent. A different preparation of Brussel sprouts which I appreciated. Was not offered a wine list...More

Food consistently good. Atmosphere tough to beat. Some intimate, romantic spaces, other spaces, like the bar are a party

I had the opportunity to have a dinner in this beautiful restaurant with a colleague. Very beautiful location with soft light, good service and typical American meat and sausages. I appreciated the buffalo hamburger with chips.

My wife and I had lunch here recently and enjoyed the upscale elegance and the very reasonable lunch time offerings. I had a very nice draft beer to start, one of those unfamiliar craft beers whose names I never remember, but not to worry, our...More

This was a great place for casual happy hour with friend. Drinks and food were excellent - try the sliders! Had not been here in years but we'll be back. A bit dark and parking is a pain but fun place.

My colleague and I ate at the Big Rock Chop House twice while on business in Detroit over the last eighteen months. Both times I was impressed with the ambiance and the service. Their wine list is California centric, reasonably priced, and includes a number...More

The service at times was great but spotty. The food is very good. This place is pricey. Its Birmngham and it goes with the territory. This place is not up to Capital grille standards but close.

Description
Formerly Norman's Eton Street Station, Big Rock Chop House combines the rustic, casual feel of a mountain lodge with the high-energy of a contemporary club, an eclectic mix unlike any other Metro Detroit dining experience, The menu bursts with enormous, hand-cut, aged steaks & chops, including a 24oz Porterhouse, a 16oz Kansas City Strip Steak, a 20oz or 32oz Jumbo Bone-In Rib Eye, a 12oz Filet Mignon, Center Cut Pork Chops, double cut Lamb Chops & a 16oz Veal Porterhouse Chop. Other selections include Rocky Mountain Chicken, Canadian Whitefish & Dover Sole presented tableside.
Adjoining the restaurant is a brew house, with custom, state-of-the-art equipment. Award-winning brew master Dan Rogers has created 4 signature beers to compliment the restaurant's distinctive American fare: Norm's Raggedy Ass Ale, Raymondo El Rojo, Flying Buffalo Stout & Weizenheimer Hefe Weizen. In addition to these, Rogers adds a seasonal & specialty brew to the bar, which he changes frequently.
