Surprised by great bakery. Only problem is that is seems to have limited hours. Morning hours - but it seems some mornings it is closed.
Don't stop here unless you are OK with an addiction to their old fashioned doughnuts from that point on. Have even been there, like the last time, when the old fashioneds were still warm ... crisp on the outside, deliciously moist on the inside. Great...More
Came here regularly in the 80s and 90s while driving North from Kalamazoo. My absolute favorite time to visit is during fall apple cider season. That carry great cider and have freshly made plain donuts - BEST COMBINATION EVER! Stopped recently and bought some sweets....More
these are some of the best fried cake donuts since grandma and i'm 63 years old and from the south i drive about 35miles each way to get them so if you go by be sure and give it a try
My family first visited this bakery 15 years ago, and my college-age boys still ask me to mail them plain donuts from this bakery every fall. Nothing fancy about the building, it has concrete floors and fairly rough facilities, but the baked goods are outstanding!...More
Don't drive past the Hilltop Bakery in Bailey, Michigan without stopping. All of their baked goods, baked onsite in their open bakery, are great!
Absolutely everything is delicious!! The old fashioned fried cakes are my favorite. The cinnamon rolls with brown sugar and cream cheese frosting are a close second.....oh, and I definitely can't leave out the bear claws! This is a small family owned business. Very friendly place!!...More
Stopped by and got marbled rye bread and cinnamon bread that were to die for. Also got a few sweet treats. The owner said they have been in business for 82 years. Worth the stop if driving by.
