Amazing and Authentic Italian Food. If you don't feel like driving to Federal Hill in Providence, run over to Cafe Assisi and eat the same Genuine and delicious food. My favorite is Romels Calzone and Tortellini Primavera which is no longer on the menu but if you ask they will make it. A+++

Last Saturday night I ordered chicken parm for take out. It was served over pasta. The chicken cutlet was very thick; not pounded flat. It was served over a bed of overcooked pasta thereby making the bottom crust of the chicken mushy. There were only a few strands of cheese on the chicken. The tomato sauce was chunky and very... Derek and his staff has done a superb job of making Cafe Assisi a destination restaurant for all ages to enjoy. We lunch there very often and have met some wonderful people from far and near who also love the food. Every dish is perfection and the bread to die for. The tables are close together so you end up... More

We actually get take-outs twice a month from here, never been disappointed! Their pizzas are amazing and the pasta is too! Only recommendable as their prices aren't too high either.

My husband and I went here with another couple for dinner. We all had heard many wonderful recommendations. They were all correct!! The food was excellent and the service was wonderful, too. I had the house chianti wine and it was excellent. I had the eggplant parm and a salad. Make sure you get a reservation or you may not... More

Took my son for early dinner on a Friday evening, and it turned out that getting there early was a good idea. Small place, and gets crowded early on weekend nights. Decor is pretty and music was lovely; Dean Martin, Frank...all the greats! You can smell all of the delicious aromas with the open kitchen, which is perfect for this... More

I would find it hard to believe a diner who said they didn't enjoy the food here. Every dish we've had is balanced to perfection. We can never think of a suggestion of what would make it better. Derek is a consummate owner, greeting all guests with sincere warmth and always recognizes his repeat guests. If you are waiting to... More

Went for the first time and it was fantastic. The restaurant is small but the food made up for that. Had veal parm and have never had such a large piece of veal. The meal had excellent flavor all around. My friend had a pasta broccoli, chicken n garlic dish. Said it had the most flavor she has ever had. Definitely... More

The reason you need to get reservations well in advance is a good one: Cafe Assisi is fabulous, and the secret's out, evidently. Skillfully prepared authentic Mediterranean cuisine is never a bad idea, and Cafe Assisi is the place you want to be. Unprepossessing from the street view, it's warm and homey on the inside, and larger than it looks.... More

We had lunch here on Saturday. This was our first time to the restaurant and it was an excellent experience. The staff were friendly and helpful with the menu and wine list. The food was excellent; my wife had a special, risotto with shrimp wrapped in prosciutto and I had pizza. Met the owner who was friendly and welcoming. Plan... More
