I found Gala through Tripadvisor and read the reviews so I was prepared about it's inconsistency but I wanted a dinner that was a step up from the regular offerings around Williamstown after a long drive. Driving up from NYC that day, I just expected...More

I think thus restaurant need a total change of management and staff. We stayed in the hotel and had a discount coupon. No menu, no coffee, and no waitress makes a very poor start on the day. The poor experience will impact on us staying...More

Gotta say that all we wanted was a decent steak restaurant. Apparently that doesn’t exist. The beet potato leak soup was too sour. Cold soup - do not recommend. The oil offered for bread dipping was bitter. No kidding. The Delmonico steak was tough, poorly...More

We found the dining room nicely appointed, the service attentive and helpful, the mixed drinks tasty, the wine list adequate, and the food well presented and delicious. The calamari was particularly good – no rubber bands to be found. One of the most interesting dishes...More

We love to sit in the lounge area and have s light meal along with really well-made drinks. Friendly bar staff too. Garden area is super this time of year and who doesn’t love dining outside. Gala will not disappoint.

The patio seating is a hidden gem, tucked away in a courtyard with great ambiance. Four of us enjoyed drinks and really good pub fare (best burger in town, in my opinion) on a warm Friday evening.

Gala needed an upgrade and got one with new Head Chef Nathan Alan. Dedicated to excellence and innovation his creations are a culinary delight. On this occasion I ordered the Filet mignon wrapped in bacon topped with borderlaise accompanied by roasted asparagus and garlic whipped...More

We had taken a long break from Gala, but decided to see if things had improved since our last visit. Friday nights have been "Shuck a Buck" nights with raw oysters just a buck apiece so we decided on a Friday. I called Thursday afternoon...More

Recently went on overnight trip to Williamstown and stayed at the beautiful Orchards Hotel. It was our luck that inclement weather kept us in. We had a great dinner at the adjoining Gala Restaurant. Our servers Sasha and Ally were attentive, professional, personable. Having travelled...More

Description
Gala Restaurant and Bar is warm & inviting restaurant located inside The Orchards Hotel in lovely Williamstown Massachusetts in the heart of The Berkshires. With it's not often found blend of classic and contemporary cuisine Gala offers something for everyone. Since becoming Gala in 2006 the restaurant has been reinvented to provide an experience not easily rivaled. Gala boasts an elegant dining room with breathtaking views of it's adjacent courtyard. The menu, created by Executive Chef Bill Sheridan, satisfies both the casual and formal diner by offering dishes such as Coq au Vin and Lobster Mac & Cheese in the winter season and Softshell Crab and Grilled Swordfish in the summer.
