Went for Sunday lunch with a large group of friends & we were treated to one of the best roast dinners we've ever been served at a pub. The service was outstanding (Dan was particularly good) & the food quality fantastic. I highly recommend the...Red Lion.More

My daughter, granddaughter. her friend and I had a really fabulous Sunday Roast today. We all had roast beef which was the best I've had for ages. Apparently it's seared on all sides and then slow cooked overnight, the result is perfect, pink but not...bloody, very tender and with an excellent flavour. It was served with lovely roasted root vegetables, perfectly cooked and also a rather large Yorkshire pudding with a very good gravy with onions and chopped parsnips. There was a great choice of puddings but as we were all rather well fed we opted to share a delicious plum and apple crumble served with Creme Anglaise, seriously good! The staff were great especially Grif who was efficient and highly entertaining, the girls loved him! Will definitely be going back.More

Four of us went for a lunchtime meal after visiting Winkworth Arboretum. We were met with a very warm welcome and all the staff were very attentive throughout our visit. The food (we each had a starter and a main meal) was exceptional as it...was presented beautifully and tasted superb. A great ambiance and so 5 Stars no question :-)More

Was such a lovely family lunch to celebrate a big birthday! Highly recommend it and we were a party of 25. Menu chatted about in the build up and Sean and the team were so accommodating to suit all tastes and even our fussiest of...little eaters. Perfect menu for the season and paired with some wines which I recommend to all eating there to be lead by suggestions. Everyone loved the atmosphere and the place has such a lovely vibe. It’s been brought to life again and very much worth the visit. Family only wished they live closer…I’m perhaps glad they don’t ;-) Super professional team who only want to ensure you have the best time. Leave with a box of macarons, it’s a must.More

I choose this pub for a meal as myself and a friend were due to visit a home for purchase nearby. When I arrived around 1pm on the 12th of November, the restaurant was absolutely packed and busy. The owner immediately greeted me albeit he...was busy and excused himself for a few mins whilst another person served me. I had a drink at the bar, whilst Shaun the owner sorted out a table for my friend and I to have a seat. We. Both ordered the 30’days matured Steak and Chips, and a Sticky toffee desert that has been made by the same lady for the last 38 years! Amazing desert that must be tried. Shaun is meticulous in his attention to detail, his presence is felt across the entire restaurant as he takes care of all his patrons and is such a lovely and lively host. I throughly recommend this place to all who stop in this lovely little village called Shamley PankajMore

We went here with friends on Thursday lunchtime 13:00 on 4th Nov. When we arrived we found a very busy area around the Inn and parking was difficult. Our friends took the last slot in the Car Park and we went down beyond the cricket...pitch opposite to park. The Inn its self is a quaint old fashioned building and we loved it. Inside was just as lovely and we had a cosy table near the window by the lit fire. We had both the shared platters on offer for our starters which were brilliant. We then had the Muscles, Cottage pie x2 and Chicken for mains. These were really tasty and nothing was left. Desert's were excellent as well. Service here was absolutely excellent with Griff at the helm whilst ably training a new young lady who was really very good and confident. We would highly recommend having a visit here and we would certainly travel over from Farnham again to do just that ourselves.More

Thanks for your question, we are happy to welcome dogs, and you can either eat in the bar or outside if it’s warm enough, if you are traveling to see us I’d recommend booking, as we are very popular at weekend’s,
