I have been going to Special Teas almost since it opened but I had not been there in a few years. It is even better now. My favorite is the Artichoke melt. I love their soups and all of the desserts are great. I usually check out the dessert on the way in. The service is very friendly. This time... More

It was Saturday about 2 pm and the wait for lunch at Tower Hill was 45 min. My friend suggested a 'tea house' in Northborough. Much better atmosphere. We obtained the last table for two in a full house. I wisely ordered a half pot of tea which came over a warmer with candle. So I had nice hot tea... More

Special Teas has been around for years at the same location--a tribute to its appeal and steady quality. It specializes in teas and sandwiches. Don't expect to get in and out fast. This is a venue for a relaxed conversation with friends. Recommended!

A very special place to enjoy a relaxing mid day meal. Very good food in a cute, quaint old building. Great smells as soon as you walk in, it feels ike you're walking into a friends kitchen...Just a great atmosphere. This is not a place to feel hurried so sit, relax, enjoy a lovely meal and let someone else take... More

I agree with many of the reviews here that it is not a place to come if you are in a hurry. That being said, it was nice to have a liesurly lunch and to linger. The tea was very good with lots of options and your choice of milk, lemon and honey. I am not a tea drinker but... More

I have visited this establishment numerous times and they are always consistently good. This quaint restaurant( open for lunch only) is in an old home with different luncheon "rooms" all with a Victorian flair. Antiques and quaint vintage fabrics abound. The menu always features homemade soups, a "toastie" , different sandwiches and salads, sumptuous desserts and if course, a huge... More

I visited mid week with my daughter who had a day off from school. The decor is charming and homey. It took a while before anyone came to take our drink orders. We both ordered tea, and ordered our lunch at the same time, since we had waited so long. We waited at least 30 minutes (more like 45?) for... More

Nice, cute, charming place for tea with the gals. All the accompaniments are available: cakes, salads, sandwiches. Way too expensive, though. Definitely not a place to frequent.

My girlfriend and I stopped in after Special Teas had generously donated a gift card to our football team's fundraiser. We decided to give them a try since they were so kind to our football booster program. We were delighted. We both had soup, which was homemade split pea. It was fantastic and fresh with a bit of tarragon. Then... More

Special Teas is a great place to spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon with a pot of tea and a very tasty lunch. This is the very antithesis of "fast food". They're only open for lunch and tea-time Monday through Saturday (closed on Sundays) ... and their clientele is ~90% women (of all ages). Don't eat here if you're in a... More
