I have lived in North Adams my whole life and this is just the kind of restaurant we need. It has a very New York City vibe/feel to it but at a much lesser cost. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly. The menu is limited but does have a bit of everything for everyone. Menu also changes every... More

People don't generally rush to North Adams, but when they do, and they're hungry, we would highly recommend PUBLIC eat+drink. Located in one of the old downtown buildings, the restaurant is nicely appointed with modern and efficient furnishings surrounded by some modern art on display for sale. The menu is varied and the local beer selections are numerous. A good... More

After 20 years of traveling to northern Berkshire County, I welcome the addition of Public eat+drink to the area. The food is delicious and thoughtfully presented. The drink selection is elegant. Love the casual, laid-back atmosphere! Delightful waitstaff. Recommend the pate, mussels, ramen, and flatbreads. The ice cream sandwich is to die for!

We were on a short hiking vacation (Mount Greylock) for a long weekend and saw this place in North Adams and had to try it. The menu had many tempting items and we tried a variety of their "small, mids and bigs and burgers" choices. Desserts were also very good. My vegetarian/localvore wife also took a bite of my (locally... More

Always consistent. Always amazing! Food, atmosphere, and staff are always fantastic! Mac and cheese is to die for! Miss their calamari, hoping it makes a come back because it was the BEST!

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Their house salad is wonderful, every dish I have tried I've enjoyed, and the wine and beer selection is great. You cannot go wrong at Public.

Went for lunch on a Sunday that was too cold to ski. Great ambience with high ceilings and simple decor. Looks like it belongs in Boston. Service was just great, low key but on point. Craft cocktails were perfectly mixed and well priced. Cheese board had delicious local cheeses and preserves. Soups were so delicious. Next time you visit Mass... More

The menu choices change often enough to keep it exciting but you can always be sure there will a fair sampling of upscale basic entree choices so as to never fear bringing along the most pickiest of eaters. Don't miss Greg at the bar for your favorite libation ALWAYS served with a smile. If you are undecided he will make... More

My husband and I went here on Valentine's evening and felt lucky to be seated almost immediately despite a full restaurant (PUBLIB does not take reservations). The cocktails we enjoyed were tasty. They also seemed to have a nice selection of local draught beers. The PUBLIC salads were fresh and a balanced melange of greens, cheese and almonds perfectly dressed.... More

We were urged to arrive early for supper and we're glad we did. We had a window table, a great server (Jody), and had a completely positive experience. Good recommendations on the menu and no problem adjusting to a special preparation request. Would recommend highly.
